here's the problem. to come close to running anything kelly does, philly needs to use vick. he's due $15 million and has no intention of restructuring since they obviously won't cut him now. That basically FUBARs their cap space, as they are about $18 million over this year, and that's with DRC and a few other contributors being free agents. Good luck.

Im aware of their cap problems. I'm speaking from more of a personnel
Standpoint. Their Oline is a wreck and it won't be getting any better in
The offseason.

They have health concers at QB, WR & HB. Asante Samuel plays for the
Other bird team and that defense is in an even worse spot.

I'm sure the Browns roster will be equally as shitty soon enough.

I think anyone that was worried about Chud as the HC probably feels a little better now. Rather than giving Chip Kelly a shit ton of money spread it out to bring in top assistants with an up and coming HC. I like bringing in guys with HC experience to run both sides of the ball. As long as Chud isn't a retard when it comes to what a HC has to do during a game I see this as being a big win for the franchise.

Norv is a good hire as OC. Clearly the Browns probably didn't offer the type of absolute power that Kelly wanted and Phily likely gave him. We saw how that worked with Butch Davis...so I feel better about where we are now.

i'm sure it went beyond that. everyone saw what happened with the massive clusterfucks that were atlanta and miami when petrino and saban bolted. chip kelly is clearly flakey in his decision making. i'd be willing to wager that most front office folks are probably uneasy about giving a guy like that substantial power and money while wondering if he's going to bolt at the first sign of adversity, especially in cleveland, where the fans and media's blood lust is constant.

Lombardi being reported as the new GM. Keep in mind they wanted
To bring in someone with an eye for talent and personnel. I'm out.

I'll check in from time to time on the freak show this organization is
About to become. It's clear Haslam has little idea who is suitable to
Run an NFL office. Most of the people in this thread can spot a football
Player better than Lombardi.

VP of player personnel. apparently they are still going to hire a GM.

Sounds like he really wants the job. For as long as his name has been out there it just seems like something would have happened by now if it was going to happen. I really hope they are looking for someone better.

edit: d'oh

How much middle management does a team need on the football side of the house? Enough to round out a foursome would be the answer I guess.

Awesome, so he's still going to be heavily involved with the
Roster and draft. That doesn't make me feel any better.

no. but the more people they have around him, the more they can dilute his toxic idiocy.

it's amazing that cleveland managed to assemble a very good offensive coaching staff, and apparently Horton is the leading candidate to be DC, which is a good hire, then they bring in this assclown.

keep in mind, if this guy was in charge 3 years ago, cleveland would likely have jimmy claussen instead of joe haden, or had blaine gabbert instead of phil taylor, greg little, and brandon weeden.
