Cleveland Indians (2013 Season)

Scrabble will lead us to the promised land...guarandamnteed.

But seriously, another nice win, but White Sox=Charlie Weis dumper bad. They have to avoid the tricky trap series in Florida...then the real fun begins.

I think we're seeing what a difference a solid manager makes this season. The past two seasons, this team folded as soon as they faced some adversity. This season, every time they face a ruff patch, they've managed to fight out of it. In fact, other than a pair of 5 game losing streaks in mid-April and Late-May, they've really avoided the prolonged slumps that have doomed the past two years. If they can finally get the hitting and pitching on the same page, this could potentially be a dangerous team down the stretch.

Oof, end of August/beginning of September looks brutal: 3 each at Detroit and Atlanta, and3 at home against Baltimore. That'll be the pivot point to the season. After that they finish up with the Mets and Royals at home, road trips to Chisox and Royals, home against Houston and the Chisox, then finish up at Minny. Get through that series with Baltimore within striking distance, they might have a good shot at playing in October.

They're still [Mark May]ty.

I'm hoping the plan is to basically shut him down for a while.
Agree. In a way, I feel sorry for him. He was so dominant last season and this season we really have not seen much of him at all but I guess that's baseball.

Regarding last night's game, I thought maybe Francona was going to send up Reynolds to pinch-hit for Big G instead of Rayburn.

I do not check the Tigers box score but they were saying the other night that he has been out for a couple games already so I do not know how many games may Miguel has already missed.

So, right, my point was (when he first tweaked his hip or whatever it is)... he's dinged and Peralta is staring uncertainty in the face...

I googled that this morning, and didn't get to read an article as I was rudely interrupted by work, but, the headlines went like this:

19 Hours Ago: Tigers unlikely to deal for Shortstop in case Peralta Suspended

8 hours ago: Tigers add shortstop as Peralta Rumors swirl

I wouldn't say that - Pestano has been dealing with an elbow injury all year and has tried to pitch through it. Same time of issue Jensen Lewis went through years ago.
