Tom Herman (Head Coach FAU Owls)

Dude, please stop with the "MENSA" thing. It says a lot more about you than it does about Herman.

My joke with it is that I believe TH out thinks himself. I am sorry that it bothers you. I may not have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, but I can tell you that most of the night I was on track to knowing what play we were running based on our formation, personnel and tendencies. If I can figure it out, I am sure that PSU had no trouble.

Mensa or not, Herman needs to find his balls when calling a big game. What boggles my mind is that we didn't run one up tempo series all game. I would think the best way to attack an aggressive defense and loud crowd would be to just run hurry up, especially when you are so good at it. Whenever we play big games it seems like he goes into his shell and reverts to quarterback keepers and middle runs. It plays into the hands of our opponents in the a Big Ten.

Stole the words out of my mouth.

I'm one of TH's biggest critics, but I wasn't all that upset about his play selections given the circumstances. They needed to go up tempo though, and even if JT is slightly hobbled (I use slightly because it wasn't stopping him from doing what he does) you can still pick up the pace and put the pressure on the defense. Other than that, I wish he would have gotten a bit more aggressive after the INT. Going into a box doesn't do much for the confidence of Barrett, he needs to get back on the horse to get it out of his mind. While definitely not a great game, I don't think it was his worst or really near it. If he doesn't improve though against MSU, I think we'll be regurgitating this convo.

They have 45 guys on scholarship.
We should have boat raced them.
But this game is not played on paper, its played with people and there are a lot of young or still developing players contributing for osu.

This is still the same ultra young team that lost to Virginia tech. The defense has made some nice strides, the offense has made more vague ones.

P.s. that 45 number is absurd. I almost guarantee that is the number of scholarship players they are using , omitting redshirts and injuries.

For example :

82 scholarship players at osu
13 redshirts
4 injuries to non redshirts
3 off field disqualification
--------------------

Osu only has 62 players!
