He visited early (I believe) and OSU looked in really good shape. I think a few things have happened since then.

1) OSU is likely only going to take 1 true DT when it initially looked like they would take 2 thanks to the realistic chance to land DEs like Cornell and Sweat.

2) Guys like Neville Gallimore camped at OSU and possibly moved themselves up to the top of the list over some of the early offered guys like Wilkins who didn't camp.

Thanks for insight 86. Still weird that there are almost no updates of his actions and or interviews of other schools, etc. It's just weird how quiet his recruitment is. We have already doubled the thread link just having the discussion!

Posted this in the '15 recruiting thread, but didn't want it to get lost...

247 $ - WIAH: Wilkins, Gibson, Hilliard & Haskins

7/6

By Kurelic....Originally was being recruited by Coach Vrabel & Coach Hinton, but is now being recruited by Coach Johnson. Wants to visit Ohio State over the summer, but if not, will definitely visit in the fall.

4-STAR DT WILKINS FOCUSED ON SIX
However, when it comes to official visits – he already made one to Stanford – the four schools to get one are already determined.

“He’s going to do officials at Penn State, Notre Dame, Clemson and I think Ohio State,” Suffield coach Drew Gamere said. “And then Boston College, being close to (Suffield), is the other one he’s been to and they’re in play as well.”

The only one of those schools he is yet to visit is Notre Dame, but Gamere said the Irish made the list “for obvious reasons,” meaning the mix of athletics and academics.

The 6-foot-4, 290-pound Wilkins told Scout he does not have any favorites, and he has not yet set dates for the trips. He trimmed it to the six schools after making a number of spring and summer visits.

Four-star defensive tackle Christian Wilkins is one of the quieter recruits in the country, but he has scheduled his second official visit to Clemson for next weekend. It is hard to really tell who is seriously involved because of Wilkins' silent spells, but at this time I'm hearing Stanford, who received his first official visit, Clemson, Penn State, Notre Dame, Boston College and Ohio State. The Nittany Lions are actually still pushing for an official visit this weekend, but at last check that has yet to come together. To make his situation even more interesting, he will likely enroll at a school for the spring semester, so time is obviously running short for additional official visits.
