DB Cameron Burrows (Official Thread)

Another fumble by Trotwood ending up in a punt.

Univ School: 26
Trotwood: 7

Kirk Herbstreit pioneered the "Ohio vs USA Challenge" a few years back, pitting supposed Ohio's top schools vs other top schools nationally. It was cool because they got the match ups right at first. Seems that they are just getting schools that have been name recruits some TV time anymore.

Next up Moeller vs a school from Baltimore.

I don't know if that is a fair assessment. It is hard to look good with a QB playing in his first career start against a very good team.

I agree they are totally over matched but at the same time you have got to protect the ball. The center has had bad snaps, there has been fumbles on carries.

This team was 15-0 with a state championship.

University School looks bigger and faster to me. Trotwood has some fast guys on the edge but they are small. The QB's for Trotwood have been awful and they are turning the ball over a lot.

Trotwoods defense has been pretty good, imo. Two defensive scores for US is basically the difference. Not enough time for Trotwood now

Another bad snap.

He's looked good. Covered a high 4* WR(Jordan Cunningham) all game and held him to I think 2 catches for less than 20 yards. Had a couple good hits too and showed a great burst on a punt return. Got burned once when the game was already in hand by a smaller, slot type guy who dropped the ball in what should have been a TD. Think those are the types Cam struggles with. Could see him ending up as a 215 lb safety in the Mark Barron mold or maybe a boundary corner if they keep him there.

McCray has been ok since coming back from injury, Big Daddy's nephew is a heck of a player but not sure what position. Looks too small to be a DE.

Trotwood duo grab UA Game jerseys
Future Big Ten rivals Cam Burrows and Mike McCray II look to go out on top

There's a chance Mike McCray II will be wearing some Ohio State gear in the near future. A year ago, that would have been expected. After all, his father was a linebacker on Ohio State and McCray always rooted for the Buckeyes growing up.

Zach Perry/IntersportCam Burrows is Ohio's top-ranked player and has committed to Ohio State.

But that was before he switched allegiance to the enemy after committing to Michigan in March. So when the two Big Ten schools link up for "The Game" on Nov. 24, McCray will be rooting against Ohio State for the first time.

If Michigan loses, though, McCray will be forced to wear Buckeyes colors the following Monday at school. That's the terms of the friendly bet McCray has with Cam Burrows, his Trotwood-Madison (Trotwood, Ohio) teammate and fellow ESPN 150 recruit -- and an Ohio State commitment.

Although the two were friendly Wednesday when they each received their jersey for the 2013 Under Armour All-America Game as part of the American Family Insurance Selection Tour, the teammates will be on opposite sides next month with a little wager on the line.

If the Wolverines win, Burrows, the first commitment of the Buckeyes' 2013 class, will have to wear a Michigan shirt.

"I'll probably buy one that makes fun of Ohio State," said McCray, who added he had to convince a "scared" Burrows to accept the deal.

Burrows is not too worried, though.

Ohio State is undefeated and has won eight of the last 11 games against Michigan (the 2010 win was vacated).

"I'm pretty confident he's gonna be wearing the scarlet and gray," Burrows said.

I have always felt Cameron was a Malcolm Jenkins-esque type of defensive back. Now, with the Conley news and the liklihood that he is a Buckeye, Cameron can focus on starting where Jenkins is currently making a living - Safety.

A DB class of Woodard & Conley at CB, and Burrows & Thompson at Safety is outstanding. Plus, Darron Lee & Chris Worley as "Big Speed" athletes. One thing on defense it seems Ohio State has lacked, if anything at all, are the big safeties you see on teams like Alabama, LSU and Florida. Burrows is over 6'+ and 200lb+ right now, just wait until Marotti gets ahold of him.
