DB Damon Webb (2017 Cotton Bowl Def MVP, Saskatchewan Roughriders)

dang it still stings to see Webb going to OSU. Cass Tech has produced lots of 4* CB's over the years, but virtually all of them were tiny. Boubacar Cissoko was like 5-7 or 5-8, Dior Mathis 5-8 or 5-9, Terry Richardson was 5-9 and 150 pounds, and Jourdan Lewis is just over 5-10 but he's maybe 160 pounds soaking wet. The best CB prospect they produce who also has ideal size at around 6 feet and 180 pounds and he's going to Ohio State. Ugh.

Congrats guys, he's a heck of a player.

Did any of those midgets even produce for scUM? All were rated quite high but seemed to have off the field problems. Haven't heard much off the field stuff from Damon, which is good. Seems to keep to himself

Cissoko had off the field and grade issues. Dior is at Oregon not doing a whole lot. Richardson played some special teams and scrap time way to small. Lewis is in the 13 class, but is tiny don't see him seeing the field this year. Damon transferred into cass last year was his first season for them.

He helped start a website to recruit other 2014 prospects to OSU and regularly recruits for us. Perhaps a little shy towards the media but has been working hard for us.

Cissoko got kicked out of school his second year on the Michigan team. Dior Mathis hasn't done much at Oregon so far and he's going to be a redshirt junior this season. Terry Richardson was a true freshman in 2012 that saw time on special teams, and this spring he hasn't really distinguished himself from the pack. Jourdan Lewis is coming in with the 2013 class, and he probably redshirts because there is some depth there now. Lewis is the tallest of that Cass Tech bunch at just north of 5-10, but he's skinny as a whistle he needs to put on a lot of weight.

Cass Tech has also produced 3* DB's Thomas Gordon and Delonte Holowell. Gordon has turned out to be a starting safety for Michigan and a pretty good player. Holowell is a CB that will be a true junior this year and he's done very little so far on the field, but he did have a nice spring game but he's definitely behind Blake Countess, Raymon Taylor, Courtney Avery, and Dymonte Thomas right now.

Webb is the best CB prospect the school has produced so far and it's not close. The others had speed or quickness, but none had size. Only Lewis had adequate height but he's 160 pounds. Webb just has it all. He should be able to get on the field right away because he's around 6 feet and he won't have to put on 20-30 pounds like those small CB's did, he's already around 180, and should be close to 190 by the time he hits a college campus.

Delano Hill might actually be the best raw athlete the school has produced at DB though. He ran an electronic 4.44 in the 40 at that Nike Opening thing, it was the 3rd fastest time at the entire thing and this track season he's torn it up running times as fast as the 10.6's FAT in the 100, at 6-1, 200 pounds. He's probably more of a safety though, doesn't have that lockdown man-to-man cover ability that Damon Webb has imo.

This kid should be a really good CB here. He's going to look great alongside apple, burrows, Conley, reeves, etc. so much strong depth has been brought in, in the past few classes. Hope grant is a great mentor like roby was this spring when it's his turn to be the elder statesman. Webb has the size and speed to a real player for us.
It looks to me that urban is starting to recruit bigger cbs(besides reeves) like Saban is in Alabama. Guys who have the size to cover larger wrs and the speed and hips to cover them
