DE Jamal Marcus (Official Thread)

Ex-Ohio State DE Jamal Marcus announces transfer to Akron
Former Ohio State defensive end Jamal Marcus announced on his Instagram feed this week that he will transfer to nearby Akron to play for coach Terry Bowden and the Zips.

"Everything in life whether good or bad I feel are life lessons that God places on us to help us become better and wiser men and women," Marcus wrote on his Instagram post. "This fall, I will be attending and playing football for The University of Akron. Blessed and thankful for the opportunity. Can't wait to give my all to this team and help get Akron football back on top."

Ohio State confirmed in May what the Associated Press called the "mutual decision" that Marcus would leave the Buckeyes program. He departs after two seasons spent largely as a reserve and special teams player, though he received the first start of his career in the 2014 Orange Bowl vs. Clemson following the suspension of Noah Spence, and responded with six tackles and a batted pass.

Marcus was a four-star recruit out of Durham, N.C. in the 2012 class and appeared in 24 games for Ohio State.

You just zip it there oh bearded one...
back in the 70s.. and 60s... the Zips were national runner-ups...
in the Grantland Rice Bowl... and barely lost to such
notorious powerhouses as Louisiana Tech University (you know.. Terry Bradshaw.. come on)

and
they were undefeated in John Heisman's 2nd year... 1894

and
Charlie Frye led them to the MAC championship with Domenik Hixon in 2005

and
provided the NFL with Jason Taylor

I still remember/attending when a VERY good Zip team got beaten single handedly by some skinny ass unknown LB from Kent State named Jack Lambert at the Rubber Bowl
