Scout $ - Ohio State Offers Sprinkle

4/7

By Scott....Offered by Coach Meyer during his visit yesterday. Grew up watching the Buckeyes & says they're at the top of his list.

Can't remember where, but I think I saw him mentioned as a DT in at least one article. Is that a possibility or is he most likely a strong side DE? Obviously body development can always change things, but I'm curious as to where he currently projects.

I bet Tracy is a great player, but I would have to believe he would need a BLOW UP camp performance or a miss on most, if not all, of our other currently offered DL prospects. Due to last year's haul we have the pleasure of being more selective at DL than any other position group.

This would seem to go against the trend of in state offers (not a QB), especially an offer directly from Coach Meyer.

I am only going to 'slightly" disagree with you here, as Day, Trubisky and Munger are all reporting offers but the staff would accept commitments from them either at this time either.

Obviously the staff is interested, very interested, and this offer was to show that they were... but a wait a see approach is how I believe they will treat this situation.

Day was offered by old staff and Trubisky is a QB (camp).

Update on newest offer, DE Tracy Sprinkle

Tracy Sprinkle is a defensive end from Elyria, Ohio. Sprinkle played offensive line his sophomore season but last season made the switch to the defensive line for Elyria High School. Elyria excelled at the position, recording 80 tackles and 8 sacks, with 25 additional quarterback hurries. He is being recruited as a DE/DT combination guy for college however. He was largely unheard of on the recruitment front a short while ago, but that has quickly changed. Sprinkle now holds 14 offers from the likes of Louisville, Kentucky, Michigan State, Penn State, Arkansas, Pittsburgh, and the newest, Ohio State. Ohio State, along with Alabama, were his favorite schools growing up.

"I was real excited about the Ohio State offer", said the defensive lineman. "I visited this past Saturday for practice, and it was then Coach Urban Meyer informed me of the offer."

Could you imagine if things work out a certain way with recruiting, we could one day have an epic picture of a scUM player being murdalized by players wearing jerseys, reading left to right, "Love Sprinkle?".

Shane Morris can be the question mark.
