Derrick "LLL" Green (RB ttun transfer to TCU)

If that means more DeVeon Smith, it might be a blessing in disguise for them. When I've watched them, Smith is clearly the more impressive back.

That may be true, but Green certainly looked better Saturday night than I've ever seen him. And for that night, at least, he put up better numbers than Smith.

But don't worry, I don't think scUM has used up their "bull[Mark May] medical redshirt" quota for this year.

No doubt. His playing in half Michigan's games this year won't phase the NCAA--denials are reserved for players who only play 4 games their freshman season and 5 their senior season.

Obviously he didn't get the message:

Sources tell me former #GoBlue RB Derrick Green has transferred to #TCU. Has signed his FAA

Re: He told MLive in April that he was graduating, which would free him up to transfer to a Football Bowl Subdivision team and be eligible to play his final season in 2016 without sitting out a year.

If he in fact did graduate;

1) he could play at a Div 1A school without sitting out a year.

or

2) with that General Studies degree from scUM he could just go to work at McDonalds

Was he actually related to Eddie George....or did he just like him enough to wear his number. The answer decides how much I laugh at this situation.

I don't think they are related.....

Derrick Green wears No. 27 because he grew up idolizing former Ohio State running back Eddie George.
Some of Green's fondest memories from his childhood are the times he shared with his late grandfather watching Ohio State every Saturday, which is where his infatuation with George, a former Heisman Trophy winner, began.
And when Green got to Richmond (Va.) Hermitage and became one of the most highly rated running backs in the 2013 recruiting class, there was a time, at least for a brief period, where he envisioned being the next great Buckeyes running back.

I'm fairly certain he's just a fan, which is why it was such a big moment when he happened to bump into Eddie on a recruiting visit to OSU. That fandom and number didn't go away just because he signed with michigan.
