I think the thread should be re named ... "unofficial offer" since official offers dont go out until Sept. 1st.

I don't want to be rude, but shouldn't it say "(Verbal Offer)" since technically official offers can't be given out until Sept. 1st? :)

How about we just all assume everyone understands the situation and leave it as is?

It's just mindboggling to see the size, strength and athleticism this Kid has. What's even more rediculous is he only will be a junior this season. I'll bet they ask him for his birth certificate before each game.

As a Mooney alumn, who follows the program closely, I can tell you that Tressel will be attending a celebrity outing this sunday, sponsered by Mooney. IF anyone can read the list of coaches and former pro players attending, you'll be quite impressed.

These coaches are big on Simon and the uncommitted guys in the 07 class.

Mike and Mark Stoops, Tressel, Jay Paterno, Pelini, Stanford assistant, Mangino (KSU0, Kosar, and many more.

By BK... John talks about his time and performance at tOSU's camp. He thought it was great and got to meet all the coaches. He still prefers not to comment on whether he received an offer or not.

does his being hush-hush on getting an offer seem odd? perhaps it has more to do with the staff trying to get some '08 DL in the fold first?

I couldn't believe my eyes when it said that Simon ran a 4.4 shuttle...that is unbelievable athlticism for a guy his size. I could see Simon being a 5 star based on potential and measurables alone.

This kid is a freaking beast. Almost makes you go Joe Barskdale, who?

Simon looks like the top player in Ohio in the class of '09 IMO. For my money, he's the #1 guy in the '09 class.

6'3, 265
4.7-40 speed
4.4- shuttle

Plus his strength and production is just unheard of for a kid that isn't even 16 yet. He's unbelievably good.

Big question with a guy like Simon is whether he's close to reaching his ceiling with strength numbers like that. I doubt he is, but this reminds me a little bit of Mike Kudla. Huge guy who is just incredibly strong, and tons stronger than any other highschooler who dominates against weaker competition. I'd take another Kudla any day, i'm just curious as to how high Simon will reach in college.

Definite top 4 guy in Ohio.
