DT Adolphus "Diesel" Washington (Official Thread)

Flyin' to the Hoop Classic recap - ESPN

A few of the athletes at the tournament could have the opportunity to choose between Division I basketball and FBS football. PF/C Taylor Decker (Vandalia,Ohio/Butler), PF Adolphus Washington (Cincinnati, Ohio/Taft) and Gary Harris are all excellent basketball players that are also being recruited to play at the highest level of college football. Decker is a top-flight offensive tackle said to be leaning towards Notre Dame (for football). Washington is a defensive stud that could play LB, DE or TE. Harris is a DB/WR prospect whose athletic ability is top-notch.

Number 5 in Rivals early Ohio top 40.

Personally I think he should be at the top, and the one I want most in this class.

Absolute freak when it comes to the size and speed of a defensive lineman. Wouldn't be surprised if he lined up at LBer from time to time.

MUST HAVE!

Watch him in combine/camp drills or in basketball games. I have no questions about his athleticism.

Yep. SPARQ ratings are great and all, but I was not a D1 athlete and I likely could have posted a great SPARQ score if I trained specifically for it. When I trained for the events at OSU camp, I had much better overall scores in almost every category. Alot of these kids aren't running L-Cones and pro-shuttles to prep for the event...the ones that do can inflate their scores.

Adolphus Washington, DE (Cincinnati/Taft)
He has over 25 scholarship offers from schools all over the country and is hoping to hear more from Florida and Miami. Ohio State, Kentucky, Alabama, USC, Oregon, Cal, Florida State, Michigan and Michigan State comprise his early short list, and all have offered. Washington said he talks weekly with Alabama coach Nick Saban and Michigan coach Brady Hoke and will go through the recruiting process before committing anywhere.
