I have nothing to whine about. I don't like ND, don't like the SEC, and I'm not catholic...it's public image. OSU is a public university. As an alum is pretty bad when the President of the University is making stupid remarks like this.

I love what Gee has done at OSU. But the guy needs a no media clause in his contract

Stupid remarks said in jest at a mostly private meeting held months ago. Yawn.

I'm sure he said something to a donor at the last private cocktail event he hosted that would offend someone somewhere too if it were revealed to the public.

I can find a lot of clips on YouTube and other sources which feature me speaking; so I know what it means to speak in front of a camera and when people can write/record what you are saying.

While I am not perfect and I cringe when I see the early interviews I did, Gee needs to STFU. He is not supposed to engage in this type of thing. This makes OSU look bad in the public's eyes.

He needs to take a largely behind the scenes only role regarding athletics. He's the president and should have ultimate controal, but leave the pot shots and stupidity alone.

Because things said behind closed doors or any other private nature never make it public?

Unfortunately in today's world things go public even when you don't want that to happen. As a President you should be prepared for that.

Too bad the point was missed. Camera or not, you have to know comments are preserved and can get out. You also have no idea who is a blogger or not sometimes. Thinking you aren't in front of the media doesn't always mean you aren't in front of someone from the media.

someone needs to put a muzzle on the guy. i don't care if what he said was true. i don't care if he said it behind closed doors.
this isn't the first time his big mouth has gotten him, and ALL of Buckeye nation with him, media heat and national derision.
i have personal experience with saying something said in private, in jest, it coming back to bite me in the ass.
but i'm a nobody. he's the freaking president of one of the highest profile schools in the country.
he needs to know better.

I don't think he needs a defense so I'm probably with whoever said move this to pussifaction of America thread.

Louisville is a dumbass school.

Outside of UF and Vandy the SEC is a bunch of football teams with community colleges attached.

Domers do feel entitled, they also all happen to be Catholics.

I'm all for anyone who puts ripples in this estrogen laden, soccer mom, everyone gets a trophy, PC pool they are trying to force on us.
