FB/LB Zach Boren (Official Thread)

My brother is a teacher in Picktown and has close ties to both the football and baseball programs (he used to coach there).

Just read that update and trust your immediate thoughts...the only way he is not 100% Michigan would be because of the slow start and the the possible coaching change.

Stranger things have happened, but if both Michigan and OSU offered.....there is no question in my mind

some food for thought here......zach was 13 at the time he was upset over his brother not going to michigan. his whole family grew up maize & blue. but hes now grown up alot and is 16 and hes matured since then. dont forget his dad grew up a die hard buckeye and he wanted nothing more than to go to osu. but fate stepped in with earle bruce and well you know the rest of story. how fitting to have dad borens dream finally realized with his 2nd son going to osu plus playing as linebacker like dad did. stranger things have happened.

Dad may have grown up a Buckeye fan but he's clearly maize and blue now. While Justin may have been open enough to take a hard look at Ohio State, I seriously doubt that Zach, a kid who cried about Justin even thinking about going to Ohio State, is going to change his mind much in three years. No way, no how, does Zach turn down a Michigan offer...

If he not "Michigan-caliber", he certainly isn't "Ohio State-caliber"...
Yeah, I'm assuming this is not-much-ado about nothing. Unless something changes, he's probably not going to get an offer from either program. But I'm sure he'll get a scholarship somewhere, and that's certainly good for him. Good luck to him.

An interest in Ohio State is always a good idea... smart kid to at least work toward having the option.

Also, I don't believe we have any coaches by the name of Fickle, despite what someone's spell checker might have suggested. :p

More tOSU love and Zach lists his early favorites as Ohio State, Penn State, and Georgia Tech.

The last few days have been surreal on this board...I am shocked to see this and the prior updates about Zach, a kid we all figured was a lock for the corn and blue.

I wonder if it is snowing in hell right now?

Good for Zach - I like how he is keeping his options open, but I will be stunned to see him end up anywhere other than double A.
