Carlton Davis (DB Auburn Tigers)

Rivals$--Canes making big push for Ohio State commit

Carlton says he speaks with Miami coaches every day and they have a good chance of flipping him. His family is pressuring him to stay close to home.

It seems this will become the new normal in recruiting. This is why we shouldn't get too "invested" in recruiting.
I get that, but this whole situation is still weird and out of character for Ohio State. I literally can't think of another example where it was a foregone conclusion that the player would decommit. Everyone knew drill and I'm shocked the staff took him in the first place.

Well in all fairness they cannot comment on recruiting but I very much doubt they planned on Carlton being a Buckeye. The staff will always "accept" a commitment from a player of his caliber but that is very different from counting him in the class.

This. The staff has so many offers out these days they expect some "flips".
