DT Malik Barrow (OSU==>UCF==>Rutgers==>TBD)

My guess is his recruitment will be a roller coaster. He will get a lot of offers and will take time to look into each. Doesn't seem like he will just fall in love with someone and commit. I think here being an early favorite is not an advantage.

This will be a business-like recruitment from what I have heard. Malik and his family will do their due diligence. This won't be the typical type of Florida recruitment that we have seen lately with all the games being played, silent officials, random verbals and decommitments, etc. His family was very tight with Coach Drayton who originally pushed for OSU to offer. Since then they have been developing a relationship with Larry Johnson and Luke Fickell, and Coach Meyer has even gotten involved as of late. My understanding is Malik and his family WILL be visiting Columbus for the spring game...or at least that is the plan at this time.

My guess is that some Alford time here will also help us as well?

I like that he's not from Florida originally. Seems like we have a higher batting average on northern transplants living down south than we do on the true southern kids. As mentioned by Wade, that should be one of the factors that leads to less of a crazy recruiting process than some of the other highly ranked Florida kids we are in on.

BUCKEYES TAKE THE LEAD FOR BARROW
"I'm heading up to Ohio State for the spring game," Barrow said. "I'm really interested in them and I will put them at the top (of my list). Just the opportunity I would have there, both on and off the field. They could set up the best opportunity for me to be successful in life and that's what I like about the school. The coaches are great and coach (Urban) Meyer does a lot for his players. That's just a great school right now."

Nothing is concrete and official until National Signing Day nearly a year from now, but is the versatile defensive lineman close to making his decision known?

"(I'm thinking about making my decision) after my Ohio State visit, maybe," Barrow said.

In no order, Barrow says he's interested in Miami, Michigan State and Penn State as well.

Sounds like the wild roller coaster ride may come to a temporary stop after the Spring game. I'm sure keeping him and fending off other potential suitors will prove to be the more challenging part.
