SCOUTING: After ranking him in the top 15 for the Class of 2015 this past spring, this is a prospect that is really starting to blow up. Lane is a hard-hitting, athletic football talent who was a one-time youth basketball standout and now has taken his athletic ability to the football field. Considered by his teammates as the player who could be nationally rated by his senior season, Lane is a player who can make a highlight reel in almost any game he takes part in. His speed, size and overall athleticism have separated him from the rest of the linebackers in the class.

CRYSTAL BALL: College coaches are now taking a strong look at one of Broward’s top players. Those who may have missed in the spring and summer are starting to really gain interest now.

Scout $ - 2015 LB picking up big offers

12/2

By Simmons...Coach Withers offered and wants him to visit for the spring game...Cincinnati, South Alabama, LSU and South Florida have also offered...Alabama and Miami are beginning to show interest.

I'm very, very impressed. Typical Florida LB prospect that can cover ground and detonate people, but I also love how disciplined he is in his backside pursuit and the way he diagnoses plays. Plenty highlights of him getting into his drops or blitzing, but quickly recognizes the screen and makes the play. Really love how he is comfortable sifting through traffic to get to the ball and wrapping up, and he is equally adept at pursuing and attacking the perimeter. I think he is an ideal MIKE prospect the way he reads and reacts...we have plenty of LB prospects that can blitz but I like Sh'mar as a guy that can simply rack up tackles and be excellent in covereage. Needs to break his feet down and square up upon contact and fill out some (looks a little weak taking on a blocker to his advantage and shedding them, and struggles scraping down the line taking on blockers), but Sh'mar is an outstanding LB prospect that I will be keeping a close eye on.

Awesome. I have no idea why the sites don't give him more love, I just noticed he is not ranked on Rivals and only a 3 star on Scout. That is baffling to me...he is personally my favorite LB we're targeting.

Probably still early for 2015 rankings. Wait until after the summer and the fall rankings. I'm sure he'll be up there
