QB or not QB?
Now that the big question -- "When will Torrance Gibson commit to Ohio State?" -- has been answered, the bigger question has to be asked [- "Can he play quarterback in college?" My simple answer is yes, under Urban Meyer he can.
I'm not a huge fan of Gibson as a quarterback, but I'm also not as dead-set against it as some other analysts and experts around the country. Gibson has a solid arm, but his accuracy is erratic and his mechanics are off. Meyer puts his players in the best situation to succeed and running an offense similar to the one he ran at Florida with Tim Tebow isn't out of the question, and would really make some Big Ten teams struggle. Of course Gibson isn't a physical force like Tebow was, but he's faster and more agile in space and a threat out of the shotgun, similar to Auburn's Nick Marshall or Bryan Randall at Virginia Tech if he fills out.

The biggest question will be how quickly would Gibson be able to contribute at quarterback and how will he respond to waiting or having to start off at a different position. Some schools backed off the Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage standout because of his insistence to be a quarterback and there have been maturity whispers in South Florida in regard to Gibson. Can Meyer bring him along slowly with Braxton Miller saying he'll return next year and J.T. Barrett clearly the young quarterback in charge now? Time will tell, but if Gibson is patient and Meyer wants to use him at quarterback, the sky is the limit.

Torrance had 125yds 2tds passing and 106yds 1td in another blowout win.

And on a side note, the best player on the opposing team was Tupac Isme... I did a double take when I saw that name. Are parents starting to name their kids after their favorite rappers now? First raekwon, now Tupac, I guess ghost face, jadakiss, and Nas will be football stars soon enough

2 things you can't doubt are the fact he threw a 65 yd rope without any momentum built into his throw and the next highlight he shows great agility and elite open field speed. I'm really excited to see how he develops in the passing game and reading defenses. But his speed and arm strength are elite.

Problem is those attributes can make you elite in HS, in college he needs to work on his accuracy and ability to read defenses(like you said). Speed and strength alone leave him on the athlete category.
But dear lord he has a cannon for an arm!
