Friday Night Lights at tOSU - July 27, 2012

Is it safe to assume this thing will have a higher turnout than most spring games? Is there a projected attendance? I would love to be there but due to a previous plan I cannot. I do however expect you sons o guns to post plenty of pics and video of this deal.

I went to an open practice in 2009 and Ohio State, in the press release following, estimated the crowd was above 5,000.

That was a Buckeye practice and this upcoming event is recruits, so I'd estimate it would be less than 5,000. But who knows how Ohio State and the coaching staff are going to run things (maybe they'll advertise) to try to draw.

I have to believe there will be more than that. This will be the second time that people get to see UFM in the "Shoe" and the first time we get to see some commits in person. Not to mention this is a brand spanking new thing at tOSU.

I bet you 10-to-1 vBet that it'll be way more than 5,000. I'll say 50,000+...

Pretty sure the new scoreboard is scheduled to be complete by then as well....might draw a few extra to the stands to see it before the season starts.

I'll take that bet.. provided you don't back out :wink2:

That would be awesome to get that kind of a turn out, I'll be coaching an All-Star team in a tourney that night so I can't make it, but I'll take the bet.. 50,000 to see recruits is alot.

I'll even lower it to 35,000+ for ya.. How much do you want to wager?

I haven't been to The Shoe since 2008, so if they haven't been selling beer there since then, I was unaware.

EDIT: I guess my efforts at remaining sober before entering the staidum for the two games I've been there weren't good enough for me to realize at the time that there was no beer there...
