I hope this link works. It's about 4O seconds of coverage of my nephew in Pee Wee Football. He's actually younger than most of the guys playing, but is bigger than most. He plays Fullback on both plays. The first play you have to see his stiff arm on his TD run. Unbelievable for a young kid. The second play he leads up the middle and pancakes two players, one after the other. Again, I hope the link works.

Thanks for the compliments. The best thing about Codi is that he is a humble kid and a straight A student. Tressel's kind of guy! lol

His Dad, my younger brother, is a High School football coach and has him working with a speed trainer to work on speed and explosiveness to go along with his natural size and strength.

I'm recruiting him to be one. I know that he's a big AJ Hawk fan and loved how AJ played Defense. He also really likes our uniforms, which is important for a kid his age. He really likes the Buckeye leaves on the helmet and thinks that's really cool. His Dad also likes Ohio State, and both Codi and his Dad's favorite NFL team is the Dolphins. With them getting Ginn, it's only going to help.

My goal is to get him out to a tOSU football camp one of these days.

Looks good - especially lead blocking!
I doubt if any of those kids wanted any part of him after the first quarter!

A couple of questions:

Does his league have weight limits for ball carriers?
What grade is this?
I would love to have him lead blocking for Nightmare.

I believe the age limit is 1O-12 yrs of age and I believe Codi was 1O last year when the video was made. I also believe the weight limit is 12O lbs. There is no weight limit for ball carriers that I'm aware of. I'll check with my brother to confirm this.

One thing that I'm impressed with is Codi's form and technique. Very advanced for a kid his age.

Where does he live? I hope not all the way out in San Jose...

Codi lives in Riverside, CA. But tOSU recruits CA with guys like Diggs, Wiley, Riley, Williams, Johnson, etc. I think the key is to get him to one of tOSU junior camps. That's why it's one of my goals to get him out their so the coaches can see him first hand.

Hello everyone! It's great to see the huge fans that tOSU has supporting them. My son has been overwhelmed at all of the kind posts. We live in Southern California, about 35 minutes east of Disneyland. Most of the HS football around here is D1, although we do have alot of divisions up and down the coast. I'm in my 22nd year coaching and my school placed 6 kids (Div. 1a, II, and III) in NCAA on schoolarship this season. We in fact have a huge tOSU fan that will be playing HB for us this season that will enroll at Ohio State on academic schoolarship (his lifelong dream was to go to tOSU) a year from now. He's a bit undersized for the NCAA or he'd walk on there. He'll be an All league RB though for us.

Anyhow, in our area there is a weight limit on kids to play youth football. For example, my boy playing in the video was 10 years old and is in 4th grade. Because of his size, He is playing on the video with the kids in 5th, 6th, 7th grade in the clips (ages 11,12, and 13). The kids have to weigh in once at the start of the season, then if they make weight they can play any position. Codi is a pretty special player and he's even learning to be a leader, which was a challenge always playing with older boys. As you can see though, he is more than holding his own so far. He usually plays FB and DT, although he has played some MLB. I'm glad you all are enjoying his clips....thanks again for all the kind words! I'll add a few more nice pancakes or runs on the clip from time to time! BTW- since the video was made Codi just turned 11 and now is 5'4 and 142 pounds. So he's jumped up an inch and 22 pounds.

BTW - I'm definately working on saving to send him to the Buckeye camp. I'll keep my eye on it! If anyone has links to the Buckeye camps, please put them here and I'll look it all over and try to get him there!
