Corn makes UGA look like Bud Wilkinson's Sooners.

In the last decade, Corn has three 10-win seasons, zero top-10 finishes, and has finished unranked six times (I'm including this year, because they won't finish in the top-25).

In the last decade, UGA has five 10-win seasons, 3 top-10 finishes, and has finished unranked three times.

Actually, the gap isn't as large as I thought, now that a type it out. UGA is one of the biggest underachievers in the country given their history and strong recruiting base. Corn is just a program that hasn't been able to keep up with the times due to an evolving CFB landscape and weak recruiting base. However, Richt should keep them in that 10-win territory for some time. Question is, when will they get tired of never getting over that hump? Corn, IMO, is dead in the water with Mike Riley and will struggle to win 8-9 games consistently.

The best comparisons to UGA, IMO are Clemson and fake USC. Both fan bases are fine with 10 win seasons, neither has won an NC in god knows how long, and they stay competitive in their conferences but when it comes down to the end of the season they're on the outside looking in, and playing in a 2nd tier bowl, with a token year they're in a BCS bowl. The OBC spouts off enough gibberish to keep the fan base feeling cocky, and Dabo will get to the bring of getting fired after losing to Wake Forest and pull a win over a top ranked OOC opponent or FSU out of his arse. And of course once one coach beats the other in the rivalry game if gives them breathing room to stay for a few more years. OBC openly brags about owning Clemson, like the rest of the country outside of south Carolina actually cares.

Tears for Big Woof. I really thought this would be the year someone - UGA, Tennessee - would bring some semblance of power and balance back to the SEC East. Maybe Florida - I dunno - but the winner of the SEC East should have to play the winner of the Big 10 West instead of going on to the CCGs.

No tears sir - it was a monsoon of bad events that took place during a monsoon. Sometimes everything goes wrong.
The Dawgs still control their own destiny to get back to Atlanta, it could be 2012 all over again. Bad early season loss, win the rest of the games, get back to Atlanta to play the west Champion and a chance to earn our way into the CFP.

Things are ok. Great teams have dropped bad home losses in the past and still rebounded to do great things.

Just read some great threads from all over the Planet. Just imagine if Richt had kept Raekwon, Vonn Bell and Clemson's QB Watson in state?

I know you can't get them all, but if that happened in Ohio and...oh yeah-John Cooper.
