Huge get that the old regime would not have even taken a second look at. Great example of how Urb will mold this team into a perennial top-5.

Also noticed that the good guys are now tied with Florida for the #1 class on rivals thanks to DW's commitment.

I could care less about any other program at this point. I'm just wondering which class of ours will be better....The O or The D? Urban pretty much recruited an entire defense this year. Now it seems he has at least 3 or 4 players that could score an awful lot of points during their time in Columbus.

Welcome to Buckeye Nation Mr. Wilson!

Landing Wilson is a big get for Ohio State, as Meyer as specifically mentioned the team?s dire need for playmakers. Wilson was figured to be the perfect fit in Oregon?s dynamic up-tempo offense, but Meyer told the running back that he could accomplish similar feats in the Buckeyes offense.

?He is a speed demon, who can score in an instant and in a number of different ways. He plays primarily out of the backfield in high school, but would make an excellent slot receiver in college. His speed is a real asset on special teams. The biggest problem will be finding out how to get him enough touches. He runs a legit 4.4.?
...
?Wilson has incredible acceleration and top end speed,? Scott Kennedy of Scout.com wrote in his analysis.
...

?He is a threat to score every time he touches the ball whether it be as a return man, running back, or receiver. He has good vision and balance and is lethal in space
...
Elliott is considered a true tailback, while Wilson will be used in the slotback role made famous by Percy Harvin during Meyer?s time at Florida. With Wilson now in the fold, Elliott will have a few days to make his final decision.

on Wilson said Dontre's decision -- contrary to popular factors involving location, conference affiliation or recruiting class talent -- came down to one major factor."He looked for the best opportunity to shine in the offense. That was the main thing," Don Wilson said.
"Warrior," Mathis said. "That's how I would describe him. He will do everything he can and anything he can to help his team. He is a true warrior, and because of that, no matter where he goes, he is going to do well."
This rings true, because at his ceremony, he talked about looking forward to special teams, something not always said.

Dontre Wilson commits to Buckeyes
Updated: February 5, 2013
By Damon Sayles | RecruitingNation

Dontre Wilson, the No. 55 player in the ESPN 150, ended weeks of speculation Monday night when he committed to Ohio State over Oregon and Texas.

The DeSoto (Texas) running back/wide receiver hybrid -- who had more than 2,600 total yards and 46 touchdowns in 2012 -- announced on Dallas-area television Monday night that he has switched his verbal commitment from Oregon to Ohio State and will sign with the Buckeyes on Wednesday.

The commitment of Dontre Wilson could give Ohio State an instant-impact slot receiver, writes Brad Bournival. Blog Insider

After flipping recruits at the last minute in 2011 and 2012, Oregon got a taste of its own medicine when Dontre Wilson committed to Ohio State on Monday, writes Brandon P. Oliver. Blog Insider

For weeks, Wilson let his father, Don Wilson, operate as his spokesperson. His only messages about recruiting had come by way of Twitter. One of Dontre Wilson's final messages before committing described all that he was going through.

He tweeted early Sunday evening: "this will be the hardest decision ill have to make in my life so far!"

That decision ultimately came Monday, and Wilson became the Buckeyes' 24th overall commitment.

Don Wilson said Dontre's decision -- contrary to popular factors involving location, conference affiliation or recruiting class talent -- came down to one major factor.

"He looked for the best opportunity to shine in the offense. That was the main thing," Don Wilson said.
