HB Dontre 'DeSoto' Wilson (Official Thread)

I'm pretty sure Galloway was faster than Ginn...Joey ran a 4.18 at the NFL combind if I remember correctly.
40-times and speed with pads on are two different things. That's not to say Galloway wasn't incredibly fast...he was, but Teddy Ginn was the fastest player I've ver seen on a football field, and it isn't really close. He was just on another level.

With so many threats his touches will be limited. Honestly we have no reason to rely on one guy because we have so many receivers with similar skill sets and JT will distribute to all of them. I actually think Marshall looks better cutting it upfield and and runs with better patience and vision than Dontre. What a good problem to have, forces the defense to not be able to key on anyone.

I agree he needs the ball more but that article was dreadful (not directed at you in any way pnuts)...we are going to "live and die" by Dontre? That is laughable.[QUOT

My sentiments exactly regarding the article. The writer went a little overboard. And saying that he'd be scoring so many TDs by now if he were at Oregon isn't a fair comparison, nor is the comparison to Have in. Urban is literally over hauling the whole team to how he wants to play, as opposed to Oregon having an almost identical coaching philosophy from Kelly to current coach. And Have in went to UF at the perfect time when the team had many players that fit Urban's scheme already, and he was recruiting at a very high level after winning an NC already. And he had the perfect QB to run his offense. Barrett is very good, and could be great, but for all intents and purposes, this was supposed to be Braxtons year. And his legs open our offense up incredibly. Barrett is still learning the offense at an actual game speed, and I could see more throws going Dontre's way.

There's so many playmakers on this team ... most would probably be getting 10+ touches a game at other schools.
The article is typical media bs -- create controversy where none exists so you have something to talk about.

For example -- last night Eze took over with Rod platooning, leaving Samuel a bit forgotten. To say nothing of Dunn and Ball.
Thomas has stepped up big at the WR spot, but Smith and Spencer are still in the mix leaving Corey and Greene somewhat forgotten.
Jalin Marshall is no slouch either, and we've got 2 TEs that need worked in as well.
Just the way it is. Every one of the skill players is going to have to fight for every opportunity right now.
