I'm pretty sure Braxton will score his share of touchdowns. However the other night I was thinking that he would come from off the screen blazing fast and throw the final block needed for a touchdown. I mean in a way that some Will say it's their favorite Braxton play of all time type of play.

Hard truth is the best truth.

While I think this move makes the most sense, and I am very excited to see exactly where it will go... I also have the suspicion that Brax will be a package player only.

You can't really expect him, even with all of his talent to become the #1 H-Back for all scenarios right off the blocks.

HOWEVER. I do expect him, if the punt return rumors turn out to be true, to really sell the XBrax name. He could be a slightly stockier Dante Hall with that agility and cut dynamic.

I get the "hood ornament" thing but I think there is a slight twist in the exact case of Braxton Miller this year.

The route running part, imo, will not be that difficult for him. I believe it's the blocking that might fall short and that is ok in limited doses. Unlike Wilson at the time, Miller won't be the only capable H back on the roster so Meyer can make a package for him that minimize that.

Bottom line is you (as a DC) still have to respect the threat of him getting the ball on the jet sweep and the decision to give it to him or fake it comes on the field, during the play from a QB that excels at making decisions like that. There is only so much you can scheme for there.

I'm sure the X and O experts can say it better but in my mind, Miller at H back will put an extraordinary amount of pressure on defenses in the run game if nothing else.

Obviously, the more complete an H back he is (running routes and blocking) the more of a threat he is but just the threat of his running alone is no small thing.

I don't see a guy with a bum shoulder throwing very many blocks like we've seen from the WR and H backs the last two years. Some of those guys, like the block that sprang Zeke aganist 'bama, really rattled teeth. Not to say I don't expect some exciting play from Brax, but he's still not 100% and he won't be until October and that's if he doesn't hurt the shoulder between now and then.

Not a doctor, but a torn rotator cuff is a bit different than other shoulder injuries in that it's caused by torque and not by impact...direct blows to the shoulder may not affect it like they would other shoulder injuries. Blocking with a shoulder that had a torn rotator cuff is different than blocking with one that had been separated or is connected to a previously broken/separated collar bone.

I would also note that Brax sets up his blockers as well as any "great" RB. Watching those clips reminds me of how special he truly is.

The really fun/scary part of that is Miller has more homerun threat than anyone Meyer has had so far at H plus Harvin never had the likes of Elliott or JT Barrett to keep the defense honest.

You just wait though guys, later in the year when his shoulder is ready he will pull back and start throwing passes to wide open guys because defenses will be running up to stuff him. We have more possibilities with our combonations on offense that it makes the Ducks Jealous.

Braxton goes in motion from bottom of your screen to the top. The ball is snapped and is swung to Braxton who then reads the play flow and see's a overcommitted defense to stopping the swing pass he then pulls up and hits the Vannett who just delay released out of his block for a wide open 6 points at the pile on (much like Vannett in the NCG)
