Latest With Five-Star Beckner
East St. Louis (Ill.) High five-star defensive end Terry Beckner Jr. recently received his Under Armour All-American jersey during a presentation at his school.

What college jersey he wears remains to be seen.

The nation's No. 3 rated prospect overall according to 247Sports, Missouri remains the leader and 247Sports Crystal Ball favorite for Beckner, but they're certainly not the only player.

Ohio State continues to make a push.

"Coach (Chris) Ash was in to see him Monday, they talked about a possible game visit, nothing was ever finalized," East St. Louis assistant coach Harith Mitchom said.

Beckner only has three Friday games this fall, so official visits during the season will be limited. He plans on using all five before deciding on or around National Signing Day.

Other schools in the mix include Auburn, Florida State, LSU and Oregon.

"Auburn has stepped it up in terms of talking with Terry," Mitchom said. "Auburn is in the mix right now."

Missouri is really the only program that East St. Louis (Ill.) High five-star defensive end Terry Beckner Jr.knows. The Tigers have been able to get a huge head start, but Beckner won’t decide until February and official visits could change a lot of things following the season. Auburn is a school this writer looks at as a program that could make a huge run late. Ohio State has been recruiting the hell out of Beckner and will get him in for an official as well. LSU was always an early favorite. Florida State is involved. Missouri holds 81 percent of the 36 247Sports Crystal Ball forecasts, and rightfully so, but we’ll see where we’re at once Beckner gets on the road.

THIS. Adding either of these guys would be incredible. I have learned to pay attention to the little things Urban says during the season. He is talking to recruits when talking about his current roster. He has mentioned many times lately about his concern for the 2nd string DL to step up and he is "concerned" which is true of course but to me it's also a way to communicate to recruits like these 2. Would absolutely love to land one of them.

He does it a lot. Funny, everyone says that Urb pulls out a big surprise every year. Beckner is a total stud and his thread is only sitting at 2 pages at this point. Kid just doesn't talk much......off the field that is. Landing him as a late surprise would be sweet! I see this as a MU-OSU battle. I heard USC early but they aren't mentioned any more. Just seems like we have a real shot here.

This kid has played it so close to the vest, that OSU could be in the lead for all we know. Analysts initially had him pegged to OSU, then Mizzou because that was the only place he visited, and everyone keeps grabbing for straws because no one knows. I think it's all amusing and he should just go to UCLA, Purdue or somewhere random. But in all honesty, it'd be incredible to get him in S&G.

With him being so tight lipped and with Mizzou being the "home" school in this one (and easily accessible for visits), Mizzou's gotta be the favorite. But with Ohio State being the 2nd closest school and Urban & LJ having the success that they're having here, OSU's gotta have a great shot for his services.

I think Gallimore is more game-ready to play in the interior but Beckner is a flat-out stud and will be a great player down the road. Even at that, Beckner could be in line to compete for early PT with Bennett leaving. No idea where he is leaning but I hope LJ Sr./UFM can work their magic.
