St. Xavier defensive lineman Simeon Lane a player to watch in 2015 class
08/29/12
Written by mdyer

St. Xavier senior defensive lineman Simeon Lane was mentioned by Rivals.com analyst Josh Helmholdt as a player to watch in the 2015 class.

Here is what Helmholdt wrote:

??St. Xavier has plenty of talent from which to choose, yet they start sophomore Simeon Lane at defensive tackle. And the 6-foot-1, 250-pound Lane is a good one, who has all the tools to be a big-time prospect in the years to come.?

'15 OH K Andrew David

Scout - Sophomore Kicker Turning Heads

12/20

Massillon's high powered offense primarily scored touchdowns this season, but when the Tigers stalled, they turned to sophomore kicker Andrew David for long field goal attempts.

David, 5-foot-9, 165-pounds, made a name for himself as a starter as a freshman, when he connected on 4 of 5 attempts over 40 yards, including a 46-yarder. As a sophomore, he hit on 7 field goals with the longest being 45 yards. His kickoffs regularly reach the end zone.

L James

Possible 2015 recruit L James (SVSM):

Strengths:
1. Shovel Pass
2. Ball Handling in Traffic
3. Embraces basketball on grass philosophy
4. Extra enthusiasm for Orange Bowl games
5. Multi-sport athlete
6. Low risk for being "bought" by boosters-gone-bad.

Weaknesses:
1. Some fans question his motor
2. Transfer Risk
3. Nomenclature subcomittee referral for dilution of "The James" trademark.
4. Turned Urban down once over recruitment as a receiver
5. Personality conflicts with players and fans in Northeast Ohio
6. Sometimes thinks "make people miss" concept applies to self.
