JabriLLL "Ghost" Peppers (New England Patriots)

I'm sure the dumbest fanbase in America are having the worlds largest game of tummy sticks over this but I don't see it being a huge deal.

He's a better fit at LB than S (and lets just forget the CB fantasy) but I think I read somewhere he's also 208 lbs.

I'm sure some dumbass coaches will go out of their way to make him look good by running away from him and letting him use his speed to chase plays down from behind (that mongoloid up in Minny comes to mind) but it won't take long for good ones to just run right at him.

Net result to me is you just took away his best defense against the run which is being 7-10 yards down field and using his athleticism to avoid blockers and replaced it with asking him to stay up in the box where TE's and OL are going to get their hands on him a lot more frequently. Those guys are going to outweigh him by 40-100 lbs. Hell most of the RB's he deals with will be bigger than he is.

I could maybe see it being a bigger deal if he was elite with his physicality(drink) but he isn't. They just haven't seen an elite player on defense up north for so long they don't know what one looks like. Zeke ran over him and JT ran around him. He's good, not great. Like most things related to M football, more hype than anything else.

struggles in coverage.
Or he's the same incredible athlete with extremely raw ball skills
I should think that such an "incredible athlete" wouldn't struggle so much in coverage, even if he had "extremely raw ball skills".

How long did it take Chris Gamble to excel at cornerback. A week?

Jamario O'Neal was a great athlete. He couldn't cover any of the no name WRs in the North South game practices.

I think he's very close physically to Darron and could excel there. He has miles to catch him in pursuit angles and tackling, let alone blitzing or making tight ends consider giving up football.

They are expecting Dymonte to fill the void at safety. He has been a tweener throughout his career and definitely lacks the speed and range of Peppers.

JTB gave a nice little shake, but that was no Braxton Miller "circle button" spin move. So either Peppers is a lot less athletic than his reputation, or he quit on that play. Probably both.
Yeah, I hear what you're saying about "nice little shake," but JT has made more than a few pretty good tacklers look mighty silly.

Not to defend Peppers, though, who is by no means a "pretty good tackler." From what I've seen, he'd do better to focus on offense.

Not exactly a "textbook tackle" or a real good effort to shed a block (for that matter) by Peppers:

so he is currently at 208lbs? with the level of physicality he has shown at sub 208lbs he might be a better fit as a kicker. while he didn't strike me as a deon sanders type when it comes to contact. he certainly didn't remind me of winfield either. with him being at 208 with his frame... at lb that would worry me. besides, as colobuck79 noted, the below is pretty weak even for an M man. if you really look at the film peppy wildly overruns the play even though the sideline was as much his ally as turning him back inside. he's actually so far out of position to make a play that its already over before jt gives his head fake.

for the kid to have any chance at lb he needs to seriously bulk up and put a crap ton of work into his pursuit angles.

Yep. Definitely a linebacker.

JABRILL PEPPERS ON LAST YEAR'S OHIO STATE-MICHIGAN GAME: "THEY KICKED OUR ASS"

On Sunday, Michigan held its annual media day for the 2016 season and, for some reason, Wolverines star safety/linebacker Jabrill Peppers was asked about last year's contest with the Buckeyes.

Peppers was quite honest in his assessment, according to the Detroit Free Press' Mark Snyder and the Detroit News' Angelique Chengelis.
