It has more to do with Chadtough than the actual signing of recruits. Instead of tickets to the event they are asking for donations to the Chad Tough foundation

Living in this trashy state I hear this occasionally from scUM fans. Harbaugh himself has said he wanted to do it to make signing day a celebration. Kudos to donating to a good cause, but any *ich fan who thinks this was about the charity and not the recruits is blissfully misguided at best.

after watching it, I completely agree. It was all about grandstanding and showing the commits a great time. Glad some money was raised along the way. It'll be interesting to see if they do it again next year. Hackett was quoted as saying he didn't thing they would. Or it would be on a much smaller scale. (of course he's on the way out, so who knows)
