Report: U-M close to hiring LB Bush's father

In Jim Harbaugh's first few months as Michigan football coach last year, he hired his son, a prospective transfer's mother and multiple high school coaches from key recruiting areas.

It seems he's at it again.

The Miami Herald reported today that Devin Bush Sr. is close to joining the U-M staff.

Bush is the coach at Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flanagan, the Fort Lauderdale-area school that just placed three players -- Bush's son Devin, Josh Metellus and Devin Gil -- in the Wolverines' 2016 recruiting class.

......

We all know this deal was made before signing day

The beauty of the whole situation is; M already has the kids that belong to these coaches, so ironically; its not about them, it's about inroads to future players from these areas: Harbaugh is a MASTER of recruiting. Whose your DADDY now Sharty? LOL
Until the NCAA steps in and puts their boot knee-deep up his ass...

Harbaugh is already too much for other coaches

The reactions that are coming out from other coaches just shows how successful he is being and how scared they really are. If they weren't worried about what Harbaugh was doing they wouldn't be saying anything. Urban honestly probably thought he would go to osu, michigan was down, msu (who knows how long their run will last), psu is struggling and the rest of the big ten really isn't that scary, and he would dominate for as long as he wanted and ride off into the sunset. But in walks Harbaugh and the game changes and urban no longer likes what he sees as his easy run to the playoff every year so he lashes out. If he was confident in his abilities he wouldn't have bothered to say anything. Same can be said for psu. Mean while, in Ann Arbor, Harbaugh is sitting in his office with a grin bigger, and more sinister, than the cheshire cat's knowing that this is just the beginning. Harbaugh is playing chess while the rest of the Big Ten is still playing checkers.

BE AFRAID BIG TEN, BE VERY AFRAID, HE'S ONLY JUST BEGUN!!!!

Couldn't you argue the exact opposite and say that Harbaugh isn't good at recruiting because he relies on gimmicky bullshit like hiring players' HS head coaches and family members every offseason? Even the regional camps only resulted in projects or players they ultimately cut.

That doesn't seem very sustainable to me, but what do I know, I'm not a member of the dumbest fan base in America.

You know we've lost out on a chance at the NC twice in the past 3 years because of a school up there. I don't see anyone "lashing out" at Dantonio though.

Nobody is threatened by you, scUM ... and rest assured, Urban&co. will ensure that continues.

It's really funny to see somebody accuse a person like Urban Meyer of being afraid of what Michigan is doing......and then in the very next sentence proves he's afraid of what Urban has done, is doing, and will continue to do. I love all these people who are so sure that the second things get difficult for Ohio State, he's going to fake his death and relocate to Guatemala. That's completely based in logic and not from the part of the brain that cries every night knowing that Ohio State is better than pretty much every other program out there save for one......the one that we dominated on our way to our most recent NC.

Harbaugh is a MASTER of recruiting. Whose your DADDY now Sharty? LOL

Not sure who MSU's Daddy is, but given the on-field results in the last several years, whoever it is, that should make them tsun's Grand-Daddy.

"DiamondBuck, post: 2740427, member: 2759"]urban no longer likes what he sees as his easy run to the playoff every year so he lashes out.

Did I miss a page somewhere? When did Urbs lash out? (Other than on the field last season, of course. Gave ttun about 40 lashes, as I recall.)

"Buckeye86, post: 2740435, member: 2778"]That doesn't seem very sustainable to me, but what do I know, I'm not a member of the dumbest fan base in America.

There are some kind of limits on staff hiring, aren't there? Maybe not. JH seems like someone who will keep pushing the limits to see how far he can go, and not stop until the whole structure collapses. J. Harbaugh: The Bernie Maddoofus of college football.

Michigan fans have talked so much smack about their 2016 recruiting class despite the fact that it finished behind Ohio State's in all three major recruiting services in both class rank and average "star" rating:

Ohio State
Rivals: #3 class; 3.79 average
Scout: #2 class; 3.84 average
247: #4 class, 91.57 average

Michigan
Rivals: #4 class; 3.61 average
Scout: #6 class; 3.59 average
247: #5 class; 89.96 average

Of course, Jim-Bo Kapsarov is really burning up the recruiting trail in 2017, with five total recruits (one 4-star, four 3-star) and the 18th-best class (85.19 average) according to 247 (Rivals and Scout have not yet ranked the 2017 classes).

Meanwhile, Urban Meyer is hangin' out on the front porch drinkin' Yoo Hoo and playin' checkers, yet the Buckeyes have somehow managed to put together the #1 class for 2017 according to 247, with eleven recruits (two 5-star, eight 4-star, and an unranked place kicker) with an average ranking of 92.95.

I sure do hope Urban figures out this recruiting game someday soon.
