SimPLLLLLLLe Jim "6-13" Harbaugh (B1G Suspenders McKhakiPants, Cheater Cheater Booger Eater)

Say what you will, but I don't care where Jim Harbaugh played, he's an excellent coach with an old school mentality that doesn't exist much any more in either the college or pro game. I'm a little biased as his dad (Jack) coached w/my grandfather at a small high school in NW Ohio way back in the day, before he went on to coach at BGSU, Miami (OH), then ultimately Michigan. But he (Jim) and his brother (John) have resume's that speak for themselves. I just love the old school toughness they have, it dearly missed in today's society.

I want him to coach Michigan and help bring that program back to where it should be. And I think there is at least some mutual interest there, or Michigan would have moved on by now. It's too obvious.

You mean never win a another game, the program disbanded, the Pig House demolished, and the field plowed and salted?

This. I want to see this game mean something again. Its not fun when its Ohio state slamming Michigan every year. I want to see the game as good as it did when both teams were at the top of their game. The last time this game has ment something was 2006. Other than that, its just been Ohio state beating them with no issue.

Harbaugh has established an excellent record at Stanford and at the 49ers. There is no doubt that he will be a major step up for TSUN.

What remains to be seen is whether he can maintain excellence over an extended period and win bowl games.

Saw this on shaggybevo's board and thought it was so delicious. Great to see people in other regions of the country have caught on to those miracle workers in AA. TSUN and Hairball logic supreme.

"They are going to petition the NCAA once he is signed. That way they can retroactively count about three or four seasons saying that if Harbaugh had coached, they would have won all those games. It's because Harbaugh is so $#@!ing awesome."

I've heard it's pretty much done. Expecting an announcement as early as Tuesday.
I don't doubt a deal is done between Harbaugh and UM. They've been the only two actors talking with each other for over a month. A deal, in principle, is likely in place.

That doesn't change the fact that once the NFL teams jump in everything can and probably will change.

Bingo. Michigan fans are even dumber than I previously thought if they really believe the deal is done and Harbaugh won't consider NFL offers. Harbaugh is who he is because he would pull the rug out from under his alma mater and spurn them again for the NFL...

I don't understand this logic. I know Harbaugh left Stanford in a relatively short period of time, but it wasn't until after he boosted that program to a level it hadn't seen in years. He's not voluntarily leaving SF, he's just dealing w/a douche of an owner who doesn't understand good coaching when he see's it. He'll be "fired" from SF or what ever word they elect to use on Monday. It's a joke considering the level of success he's had there.

He did not spurn UM previously, pizza boy required him to interview for the position formally, which was nothing short of foolish and disrespectful to a coach who was proven, played QB (successfully) at UM, and whom needed no such credentials to be proven at that time, not to mention he's a person who was raised in Ann Arbor. UM simply fucked up by alowing their arrogance to blind what they had available to them. Hence, Brady Hoke, and here they are today, worse off. Rich Rod would have been successful enough there if they had given him a fair chance (ie, D-Coordinator of his choosing), but again, their arrogance got the best of them.

Harbaugh is going to Michigan, it's gonna happen, it's obvious. And as an Ohio State fan, I'm looking forward to it. It will only make OSU and the BIG better and more competitive in the long run.

I recommend that you do a little research...

I grew up just south of AA (in ohio), I'm not trying to sound like that "that guy", but my family has past relationships w/the Harbaugh's (past coaching relationships) - I'm not claiming to know them personally. I believe I understand what happened. Harbaugh is far from perfect, Im not pretending that he isn't, but in this situation, look at Brandon, not Harbaugh. Just my personal opinion.
