Joseph Barksdale (OL Arizona Cardinals)

Any updates?

Glad you asked.....

Report: Rams interested in bringing Joe Barksdale back

Before free agency opened up we heard that right tackle Joe Barksdale and the Rams were unable to agree on a contract, which meant Barksdale would get to see what the open market had for him.

Since free agency opened on Tuesday, right tackles Bryan Bulaga, Derek Newton and Doug Free have all re-signed with their teams and Jermey Parnell landed in Jacksonville. We’ve heard very little about interest in Barksdale around the league, however, and that might help the Rams’ chances of bringing Barksdale back.

It seems they’d like to do that. Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Rams remain interested in bringing back a player that has started 29 games for them over the last three seasons.

The Rams released tackle Jake Long  and center Scott Wells recently, so losing Barksdale as well would leave them with a lot of holes to plug on the offensive line. In a market that’s seen most of its biggest names land contracts already, that would seem to make a reunion a likely outcome.

The pickings are pretty slim on the free agent market in the middle of May, which makes tackle Joe Barksdale’s presence on the list of unsigned players surprising.

Barksdale may not be the second coming of Anthony Munoz, but he’s started 29 games over the last two seasons at right tackle for the Rams and he’s drawn interest from a handful of teams since becoming a free agent in March. That list is getting a little longer.

Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego reports that Barksdale is visiting with the Chargers on Monday. The Rams, Titans and Falcons have also been linked with Barksdale at various points this offseason.

The Chargers have 2013 first-round pick D.J. Fluker at right tackle, although there was chatter about a possible move inside after he struggled during the 2014 season. The Chargers said that wasn’t their plan, although that could be revisited if Barksdale should land in San Diego.

Anyone have any inside info on Barksdale because it seems as though he could be leaning towards tOSU, especially with this new information. Go Bucks

Any updates?

Saw him on TV this afternoon, he was committed to (actually playing offensive tackle for) the San Diego Chargers. However, I think he'll be "flipping" to Ohio State any day now.

Former LSU OL Joe Barksdale named Chargers' Lineman of the Year

Former LSU offensive tackle Joe Barksdale was named San Diego Chargers' Offensive Lineman of the Year in his first season with the team, according to the team website.

Barksdale, who signed with San Diego in the off-season for the league minimum, was the only Chargers' offensive lineman to start every game.

Barksdale played mostly at right tackle but shifted to the left side at times on a San Diego line that was decimated by injuries in 2015
