James Quick (WR Louisville)

Maybe he follows Strong to Arkansas?

I talk to a guy almost daily that keeps me updated on Quick, he is friends with his father. I would be very surprised if he did that. Quick’s dad wants him close to home. If distance were not a factor, he would go to Oregon.

As it stands right now, Quick wants to go to Louisville but only if Strong stays. The Quick family knows that they may have to make a decision soon due to space at Ohio State. The more I hear, the more I realize that Quick’s father is making the decisions. We could have another Davonte Neal or Seantrel Henderson situation, but I don’t think it’s to that extreme yet.

Those situations went way beyond a father involved in the recruiting process. I don't think you should jump to such insulting conclusions about the family by even mentioning those comparisons (disclaimer or not), even if the father is heavily involved in the recruitment.

Doubt that. Louisville is in his backyard, his dad went there (ran track?) and he enjoiys the fact that he could be a hometown hero. The fact that they currently have a very good coach that could give Louisville a very bright future by continuing to add more quality players like Bridgewater and Quick is also enticing. However, Quick is not tied to Strong, and especially not enough for him to go to Arkansas is he does leave.

So if Strong stays, do they realize the potential of him leaving a year later after James's Freshman year... or sometime during his career there.

You should go back and read my entire post again. I work with a friend of Quick's father. He tells me that Sr should let Jr make decisions. The kid wants to go to Oregon and the father said no. At this point, the father is telling the kid he has to stay close to home, which is the reason he recently added Cincinnati to his list.

I don't do interviews and I don't speculate. I give the info that is given to me from a fairly reliable source. Take it for what it's worth. But from what I'm being told, his dad has given him a list of schools.

I appreciate and thank you for that insight, but I once again want to reinforce that there is a huge difference between parenting, even if it is overbearing parenting (which is debatable) and the situations surrounding the recruitment of Seantrel Henderson and Davonte Neal.

Wanting your child to stay relatively close to home when they go to college is a desire that a majority of parents share with or without athletics in the equation.

I agree 100%, which is why I said we COULD have another similar situation, and then I said that I don’t think it’s to that extreme...
