Great moment for Brian, especially after the loss of his dad.

Kid WAS, IS, and always WILL be an absolute BITCH on the football field.

It was a pleasure to have him here, and as much of a pleasure to see him succeed in the NFL!

KEEP it going Brian, a huge "Nation" of supporters are behind you!:oh:

Rolle's first TD reduced to 'just another play'
November 8, 2011

Rookie linebacker Brian Rolle feigned surprise when he saw a gaggle of media types waiting in front of his locker. Given that the Eagles? defense struggled to put much pressure on Bears quarterback Jay Cutler in the 30-24 defeat, Rolle must have thought there wasn?t much to talk about.

Then again, it was Rolle who forced a fumble on Bears running back Matt Forte and then picked it up to rumble 22 yards for his first NFL touchdown with 1:38 to go in the first half.

?For the moment, when it happened, it felt real good,? Rolle said of his touchdown. ?I was surprised how it happened with me causing the fumble, first of all. I didn?t know it was going to turn out that way. It felt good, but now it?s just another play and it would have felt better if we would have won.?

Strangely, the defensive touchdown by Rolle was not much of a momentum changer. Instead, that came when the Eagles fumbled a punt after they forced the Bears to kick it away after six plays upon getting the ball back. Four plays later, the Bears punched in another touchdown to take a 17-10 lead into the half.

Forte fumbled twice, but he also rushed for 133 yards on 24 carries. Marion Barber also pitched in with 31 yards and a touchdown as the Bears' runners cut up the defense like ribbons. At 3-5, the Eagles? defense is winless when they allow a player to rush for 100 yards or more.

?We didn?t do a good job, obviously,? Rolle said. ?He rushed for over 100 yards so that?s not a good performance by our defense. I felt like we did OK, but we just weren?t making the key stops when we needed it.?

Thursday, a small move was made when linebacker Keenan Clayton replaced Brian Rolle in the nickel package for passing situations.

?I had to work my way into it, and now they are giving me a shot to do it,? Clayton said after practice. ?Now it is time to make some plays.?

Clayton, a fourth-round pick out of Oklahoma in 2010, played in seven games last season and started one. He has played in seven games this year on special teams.

The 6-foot-1, 229-pounder will be in the nickel at linebacker with Jamar Chaney in passing distance, while Rolle, a 5-foot-9 rookie, will stay on the field in the nickel on running distances.

NFL: Immokalee grad Rolle to suit up Sunday against Dolphins, his childhood favorite team
By WOODY WOMMACK
Posted December 10, 2011

It?s been a whirlwind rookie season for Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Brian Rolle. Because of the NFL lockout?s quick resolution, the former Immokalee High standout hasn?t even gotten a chance to celebrate with Southwest Florida family on finally achieving his NFL dreams.

That will change today when Rolle, who played for Ohio State, makes his first trip back to Florida since watching April?s NFL Draft at his family?s home in Immokalee. Rolle?s Eagles will play the Miami Dolphin at Sun Life Stadium today at 1 p.m., and Rolle said he expects to have a pretty significant cheering section.

?I only had to get tickets for my family but I know a lot of other people got theirs, too,? Rolle said. ?I?m going to have a lot of fans there and it?s going to be special to return to the Sunshine State.?

He?s also kept a close on eye on Ohio State. The Buckeyes recently hired former Florida coach Urban Meyer as their coach, a decision Rolle said he supports.

?It?s a good hire because they had to get a guy to our program back where it should be,? said Rolle, who was recruiting by Meyer as a high school senior. ?I would have liked to see (interim coach) Luke Fickel get a chance, but I trust the administration and I support their decision.?

LB Rolle calls his own blitz and gets first sack
December 12, 2011

MIAMI ? Brian Rolle has earned the Eagles? trust. Rolle recorded his first career sack in Sunday?s win over the Dolphins ? and he blitzed on his own.

?It was kind of crazy ? it was man coverage, and I tell the coach every time I?m in man coverage, I?m going to blitz to make the back stay in and block, and they blocked, and I just so happened to get in and get the sack,? Rolle said.

Once the ball is snapped, Rolle watches his man ? a running back or tight end. If his man stays in to block ? leaving Rolle without anyone to cover ? the rookie linebacker is free to go after the quarterback.

?The coach gives you the freedom to do it. At the same time, you have to make sure he doesn?t get out in coverage,? Rolle said.

?If they sit in, you?re free to blitz through that guy.?

A sixth-round pick out of Ohio State, Rolle has been the Eagles? starting weak-side linebacker since Week 4, replacing Moise Fokou, who moved over to the strong side when Jamar Chaney took over for the ineffective Casey Matthews ? who also recorded his first career sack Sunday (see post) ? in the middle.

Rolle entered the game with a pair of QB hurries, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery but no sacks or interceptions. In the first quarter, he sacked Matt Moore for a six-yard loss.

?It felt good,? Rolle said. ?Actually I got 1? sacks in the Jets game in the preseason. But for it to actually count, it felt good.?
