LB Curtis Grant (National Champion)

I think he will be fine against the run particularly first and second down situations but on third down and heavy passing teams you may not see him on the field quite as much. As eluded to by @Buckeye86 I do believe the simplified defensive scheme by Ash will help him greatly, as I think the aggressive and simplistic approach that Ash has brought will benefit the whole defensive unit.

Curtis stepped up for us BIG time last week and it was essential that he did. That's a senior captain stepping up when we need it most. Although I want to see some Chef in there (UFM said the same), I completely understand not taking him out last week...he was getting the job done and it was a close game. Keep it up Curtis!

Sometimes I find myself wondering how he is holding Kwon back from starting...
and then I remember.. this was the #1 LB in the land and #2 overall (behind only Clowney)
so suffice it to say... we undoubtedly have the best MLB core in the world

Have the season you always wanted...

This is how he is holding Kwon back:

Meyer: big play of [NAVY] game was Curtis Grant sack of Navy to force punt before 80-yard TD pass Barrett to Devin

“He’s awesome,” Meyer said. “And last year he was not. Last year he was a very big disappointment for us. He had some injuries and all that, but I just thought his demeanor and engagement was not what we wanted.

“But to see where that young man is at right now, he got voted captain of the Ohio State Buckeyes, which is nothing but a credit to him. I think his position coach has done a really, really good job with him. Him and coach (Luke) Fickell are very close. There are some issues that he had back home with some health issues with his family members – and that’s part of the journey that these guys are on – and to see him come out even stronger on the other end is a tribute to him.”
