Getting his "reps" this Spring , O-Zone story:

Sophomore Linebacker Dante Booker in Midst of Very Important Spring for the Buckeyes

Membership has its privileges.

Members of Ohio State's "2,000 Rep Club" get a lighter load during spring practice than most, as the coaches look to both reduce the wear and tear on the veterans, as well as place the reps where they can better be utilized.

For instance, who needs reps more — a two-year starter who has seen everything, or a second-year player who has almost yet to see anything?

That's the situation this spring for the Buckeyes at Will linebacker. Joshua Perry returns for his final season, having led OSU with 124 tackles last year. He has started 24 of the Buckeyes' 29 games the last two seasons, which means that a few of his spring reps would be better off going to somebody who actually needs them.

That player this spring is sophomore linebacker Dante Booker. Booker came to Ohio State as a ballyhooed 5-star recruit, and played in 11 of the Buckeyes' 15 games last season, finishing with seven tackles. He didn't see much action from scrimmage, but that will happen when you're backing up one of the team's leaders, as he did with Perry.

Booker once again finds himself behind Perry, but due to the 2,000 Rep Club, he appears to be making much more of his new-found opportunity.

"He's doing well," Perry said of his teammate. "He's getting a lot of reps because I haven't been getting as many reps this spring. He's really taking ownership of the work that he does in the film room, which is big for him. The kid, like I've said before, he's an athletic freak, so when stuff starts coming together it looks really good out there. He's extremely aggressive and I'm really excited to see what he can do."

He stepped in and played pretty well, I thought. Seemed to be around the ball constantly. Could be a bit stronger at the edge point of attack but that's something that comes with being comfortable on the field.

I saw it differently.
His lack of edge integrity was the catalyst behind being on the business end of a number of Jim Brown (or whatever his name was - Barkley's) long forays.
