LB Darron Lee (National Champion, Super Bowl Champion, Fugitive)

Can't blame him, although I do think he could have moved up by adding some muscle mass. Maybe not. Either way, outstanding career and I will miss you playing on Saturdays. As for my own selfish NFL outlook, I think he would fit in nicely with Cincy in the late 1st round. They really need an athletic WILL type that can rush the passer and also excel in coverage.

I'll go on record and say I think it's a mistake. He needs more size if he wants to make an immediate impact at the next level. I hope to be proven wrong and that Darron has a long career in the NFL. But it's a production league and you see time and time again that teams will cast a guy off if he doesn't produce early.

I have faith in Darron's work ethic and character though so he has a chance to overcome some of those limitations.

Smaller LBs who are almost more LB/S combos and who can cover are becoming more and more valuable. Shaq Thompson, Deone Buchanon, Jaquiski Tartt are all examples of that LB/S combo guys who are primarily coverage guys who were drafted late 1st or early 2nd over the past 2 years. It depends on what team and scheme drafts him, but I think a 4-3 team in the late 1st or early 2nd (Cinci, Minnesota, Dallas, Miami) could draft him and he could come in and make an immediate impact as a sub-package cover LB.

That's why i hope my home team Buffalo drafts him. He fits.

Pretty much the same size as Shazier, who got a guaranteed $9M 1st-round contract and has 80 tackles, 3 sacks in his pro sophomore season. This is today's NFL linebacker - so I expect him to do well.
Yep. In fact, Lee may be a smidge bigger:

Shazier: 6'1", 230 (Pittsburgh Steeler official website)
Lee: 6'2", 235 (Ohio State official website)

Shazier actually has 87 tackles (55 solo) in 12 games this season (he missed four) per the Steelers website. That would extrapolate out to 116 tackles (73 solo) for the season had he not missed those four games. Looks like someone at Lee's/Shazier's size can be pretty productive in the NFL...

"Darron Lee, someone posted a picture of a skinny-neck quarterback from New Albany," Urban Meyer said Jan. 7. "Now (he's) going to the NFL."

REPORT: DARRON LEE UP TO 235 POUNDS, READY TO DESTROY NFL COMBINE

67961_h.jpg,qitok=RfSKj1Wy.pagespeed.ce.GWQoBdXbgY.jpg

Darron Lee has been down in Arizona training for the NFL Combine, and according to Bleacher Report's Matt Miller, it's been time well spent.

Lee is up to 235 pounds—Ohio State listed him at 228, though that was probably generous—and ready to "light up the track" at next week's combine in Indianapolis.

Zach Smith, Ohio State's wide receivers coach, says Lee could run as low as a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash. He also wants credit for spotting the talent in the former high school quarterback:

Zach Smith #Zone6 @CoachZachSmith
235 and 4.4?? Remember who said @DLeeMG8 could play for the Bucks!! They don't want you to play for OSU... #Idid

I seem to recall way back when DL was a frosh some reporter asked him something to the effect of "after your time in Columbus, who's going to be more famous? You or your mom?" He responded with "Probably my mom..."

So glad he got that wrong.

Go get 'em kid. Get paid.
