24/7 $ - 'Close to being tied' for McMillan

2/14

OSU still leads but Clemson closed the gap after his visit...will have a new top five this summer...also recaps his visit to Alabama...visiting OSU the first of April with Myles Autry and again with his parents over the summer...visiting Florida this weekend.

Hard to see this as anything but a positive update for OSU...

The big new in that article (IMO) is that he has changed his stance on playing with Rueben Foster. Before he had said that he would not go to the school Foster went to because he wants to get out of his shadow. Now he's saying he would be fine playing with him. I think Alabama is going to make a push now.

However, the fact that he's still visiting OSU two more times (that will make 5 times total, all on his own time) bodes extremely well for us. His parents are coming with him in the summer and he said he'd like to decide soon after that and help recruit. Putting two and two together, I think he commits after FNL (I assume that'll be his summer trip).

Does he plan on committing relatively early and being a '14 class leader? Or is he a 5-visit, take your time, NLOID commit?

From where I stand, he seems to want to be prudent but deliberate about making a decision so that he can recruit with/for his chosen school. Thoughts?

Says he will know where he wants to go this summer and will start recruiting for that school...

I think we're going to be that school. Give me McMillan, Booker, and Berger and that's a SOLID set of LBers.

True that but I see Garrett being in this class...Garrett is also a MIKE prospect but I just think he is too talented to pass and is a big lean towards the good guys much like McMillan.

This defensive class is going to be stellar.

Potentially Webb, Peppers, Blanding and Nicholson in the secondary.

McMillan, Booker, Berger and Garrett at LB.

The only position group we don't know much about is the DL. McDowell would obviously be a huge get but besides that I don't know any absolute studs that are leaning our way.

I may be alone in this, but my view on recruiting in regard to the DL: go after only the absolute studs of this year's class. If you can't roll up a top shelf sure thing game changer, don't sweat it, use the scholly elsewhere. Between the hauls on DL we scored in '12 and '13, it's going to be a few years before we'll need anyone to see the field anyway.

Edit:
And looking over the scholly breakdown just now, we have 15 guys on the DL, with no seniors in '13.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I think we really only need 2. Also Booker can potentially slide down there if we take Kwon, Garrett, Dante and Berger.

I think we should go after Da'Shawn Hand, Jalyn Holmes, Andrew Brown, Lorenzo Carter, Malik McDowell. Those types. If we land one great. If not, we still have tons of studs and depth on the roster.

Scout $ - Things not as clear for McMillan

2/27

By Simmons...talks about how his visit to Alabama opened his eyes and enjoyed his time Coach Smart and how he could play alongside Reuben Foster...says he now has no favorites but will be ready to name a favorite after his April visit to OSU...also still likes Clemson.
