Lebron James (Los Angeles Lakers)

Eh, I don't think anybody here had trouble admitting he was a great player. I can still say without hesitation that I don't think he's in the same league as greats like Bird, Jordan, and Kobe when the game's on the line. Him wearing the uniform of my favorite team doesn't change that. I hope he helps Cleveland win it's first title since the other LBJ was relevent, but I'll never like the clown. I found his "letter" to be insulting. He's "coming home" because it's convenient for his legacy and because his "kingdom" in Miami was crumbling faster than he thought it would when he joined his super friends. Make no mistake, if Wade wasn't falling apart and Miami didn't have a thrifty owner, he'd still be in Miami, and I'd still be wishing for a shark attack. It's a marriage of convenience, not about his "love for Ohio", IMO. He can just go out and win games and shove that "I'm coming home" horse[Mark May] up his ass, as far as I'm concerned. Also, any fans that wear those "FOR6IVEN" shirts are assclowns, IMO. Fuck this guy on that level.

All of this. I would add though, that he does have an opportunity to wipe most of the tarnish off of that, games man, image of his, even for the most bitter fans. It's not going to have fuck all to do with the "letter", it will be championships. If he actually does the unthinkable, and believe me, a championship in Cleveland would be about as unthinkable as it ceasing to hemorrhage desirable employment opportunities. If he does that a couple times, even I'd be willing to give him a pass on "the decision". Not for quitting in the game though. That's just unforgivable. He will never get a pass for that, from me. That will forever be the tarnish that doesn't rub off. Now, having said all of that, his mere presence in the greater Cleveland area is a good thing for that city, and I sincerely hope that translates in to good things for him and NE Ohio.

While I found part of me being genuinely excited for him coming back - I remembered that 'injury' against Boston. You know, the one nobody ever heard of, ever again?

I remember watching him quit on his team. Until I see him literally will this new Cavs squad to some play-off victories, I don't think I'll see Lebron anywhere near as close too "for6iven" as some have labeled him.

I have to give Lebron props for going back to 23. I was sure he would try to sell more jerseys by picking a different number. I guess this makes it easier to retire the number in 10 years. I would like to know how many people are pissed that they burned their 23 jerseys 4 years ago.

Good. In my mind going with any number other than his old one would have been an(other) insult in light of this from 2010:

http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2010/07/inside_the_decision_miamis_cou.html

Riley really put the plan into action last November. During a Cavs visit to Miami, Riley arranged a get together with Michael Jordan and James. Jordan, who was in town to do some Nike work with Wade, at the time did not own a majority of the Bobcats.

During the meeting, Riley talked to James about how more modern players should pay homage to Jordan. Riley always had led this effort, retiring Jordan's No. 23 in the rafters at AmericanAirlines Arena even though Jordan never played in Miami.

The Cavs knew about it, and while it seemed like it could be classic tampering, they decided not to make an issue of it -- mostly because the meeting technically wasn't about free agency.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ, he better stop dressing like an asshole now that he's "come home" and no longer has to fit in with diane wade, the crossdressing dinosaur and the rest of those south florida douche sleds. Is that a goddamned lion on his shirt?

At first I thought it was a Blackberry he was holding, that would have been the real shame.
