Lawrence Cager (WR New York Jets)

CAGER DEFINITELY STILL THINKING BUCKEYES
After the Sunday commitment of Alex Stump, the Twitter timeline of Maryland wide receiverLawrence Cager was flooded with conjecture, hypothesis and speculation. The common thread? Now that Stump was a Buckeye, there was no way that Cager would be, or could be, right? Not so fast my friends.

"Everyone thinks I'm not going to consider Ohio State anymore," Cager said with a slight laugh. "I'm not sure why people think they know me more than I do."

What does Torrance Gibson's Ohio State commitment mean for his close friend Lawrence Cager?
"The way he chose Ohio State had me laughing," Cager told cleveland.com shortly after Gibson's commitment Monday afternoon. "But I already knew where he was going to go, so to really say does it have any impact on me, it doesn't really change anything with me. I knew he was going there from the jump.

"Ohio State has really always been a top school, so that's how it's going to stay."
"Now it's about taking another visit," Cager said. "Taking an official visit to Ohio State to see if I like it is big, but then I am going to take official visits to other schools, too. I want to see what schools are really in competition with them."
"Torrance is just a great guy to be around, man," Cager said. "He brings leadership to the table. Because we are close friends, I think we could have a connection. It would be very beneficial to have a connection already going into college."

Nation's Hottest WR Recruit, Lawrence Cager, Reveals New Top 6
Lawrence Cager plans to announce his collegiate intentions Jan. 3 at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio. Though six weeks separate the coveted Maryland wide receiver from a decision, he's confident about which schools remain under consideration.

The 6'5", 202-pound playmaker is concentrating on six programs during the final stretch of a frenzied recruitment.

"It's really down to Alabama, Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Georgia and Virginia Tech," Cager said.

For once, I am feeling great about recruiting receivers. For many years, we haven't had much of a passing game. But hey, who can offer anything better than JT2 for the next 3 years? Or 2 Heisman trophy candidates on the team next year?
