Brian Cole (former scum WR; transfer to Kentucky, transfer to JUCO)

Ohio State recruiting: State Secrets, 3/14 - Brian Cole visiting this month

Add Cole to a busy visitor weekend

Many of the nation's top prospects are set to be in Columbus on the weekend of March 21st, including Chris Clark, Larry Scott, Jordan Whitehead, James Daniels, and many others. We can add another name to list in the form of Saginaw (MI) Heritage athlete Brian Cole, as first reported by Bill Kurelic of Bucknuts.

Michigan and Michigan State hold the edge for the versatile athlete as things currently stand. He has the ability to play wide receiver, running back, or defensive back when he reaches the college level.

We'll try to learn more about Cole's upcoming visit in the next couple of days. It's huge the Buckeyes are getting him on campus and they'll try to gain ground on Michigan and Michigan State.

No. 1 Michigan Prospect Will Visit Ohio State
Saginaw (Mich.) Heritage athlete Brian Cole, who has been to Ohio State before, is going to get back to Columbus before the end of the summer.

"Yes we will," Brian's father Brian Cole Sr. said. "I'm not absolutely certain when it will be, it depends on when the Ohio State coaches get back in. But we plan to get back down there before the end of the summer. We just have to figure out when."

Cole's most recent visit was to Tennessee June 21. He has also been to Ohio State, Michigan State, and Michigan.

Cole has scholarship offers from all of those schools as well as Purdue, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Illinois and a couple others.

The 6-foot-2 and 190-pound Cole has played quarterback, wide receiver, running back, and defensive back for Heritage. He is being recruited as a wide receiver or safety by the Buckeyes.

Cole is a 4-star prospect in the 247Sports rankings. He is the country's No. 38 overall prospect, the No. 2 athlete, and the No. 1 prospect in Michigan.

Ohio State, Michigan State, Michigan and Tennessee are thought to be the most likely destinations for Cole.

I absolutely love the idea of Cole being in this class. We got in on him very early and we seem to be in pretty decent shape. Cole, Kirk, and Jefferson (or two of those three) would be yet another loaded WR class.

Time to turn more elite talent into career underachievers.

May the team's exploits over his career not be held against Cole come draft time.
