OL Josh Alabi (Official Thread)

ALL ABOUT ALABI
"I think a lot of Buckeyes fans, and people in the area in general, are not paying enough attention to Alabi," the source told Eleven Warriors. "That kid can really play and when he gets into a college weight program and focuses one position watch out. He's hard-working, he's humble and he's really talented. I think he could be a NFL player on either side of the line."

Scout $ - Alabi Focused on State Title

10/28 by Trieu....

All-City performer on OL this season, but still plans to play DL at OSU. Still hearing from Miami & Sparty, but says he's 100% committed to the Buckeyes. Recruiting Mike Weber to join him at OSU.

Detroit News Blue Chip countdown: No. 3 Joshua Alabi

The Detroit News is counting down the top 15 players on its list of Blue Chip football recruits. Today: No. 3 Joshua Alabi of Detroit Cass Tech.

Detroit – Joshua Alabi developed into one of the best offensive linemen in Detroit Cass Tech history, helping Mike Weber rush for more than 2,000 yards.

Now it appears the two will be playing together again for the national champion Ohio State Buckeyes. But Alabi won't be blocking for Weber this time; he'll play defense for the Buckeyes.

"I was recruited by Ohio State to play defense tackle," said the 6-foot-5, 295-pound Alabi. "I like playing defense better. I like to hit people. I'm more comfortable at that position."

Alabi has been starting for Cass Tech since his sophomore year on defense, but started playing both ways his junior year.

Contd....

You can bet on Alex Malzone finishing No. 1 as he's already swept up pretty much every award in the state from last season. Still, very startling I would say for them to lack getting any in-state talent this year, although they've always been heavily dependent on out-of-state guys. Then again, look at their season last year & the recruiting class itself and it's not too surprising.
