RB Michael Weber (New Jersey Generals)

Has anyone else noticed how Urban is always stocked with power backs here at tOSU? Tebow aside, that was an issue for him at UF, and it makes for a much more diverse offense, especially compared to most of the other teams that line up in the spread.

The only power RBs he had at UF were Deshaun Wynn who won an NC with but didn't recruit. And Emmanuek Moody, who didn't work out. He's had a much better crop of RBs while at OSU, and I think Brionte Dunn could still be a solid backup as well

My best comparison would be Mike Davis of South Carolina...patient runner who doesn't have elite speed but will pick up tough yards between the tackles and can hurt you just enough on the edge and in the passing game.
Stylistically, I think Mike Davis is the closest comparison made to Mike Weber in this thread. However, I think Weber might actually have half a step on Davis and Weber has as good, if not better, hands (Davis was great in the passing game at S.Carolina, but it was mainly on easy screen passes. Weber has shown in his highlights that he can make the harder catches out of the backfield and beyond- even one-handed). I really like Weber's gait too- he takes a little shorter step that allows him to keep his feet underneath him and it gives him great balance (not in Archie's stratosphere, but he's good. Keeps those feet moving forward). If he can run with Davis's toughness and determination at the next level, we have a REAL gem in Mike Weber that would be a really nice compliment/change of pace to a player like Curtis Samuel.

I still don't think Weber goes to scum. Harbaugh is a I formation, prostyle, playaction kind of coach going back to being at Stanford and I think our Style of offense will appeal more so to Weber.

edited: oh yeah, you have to have a QB who can be accurate and smart. Their best QB is Sugar Shane, enough said.

It will take them 2-3 years until they can get the QB play that they need in order for their offense to be truly dangerous.

I watched his senior year film last night, and wow. I was pleasantly surprised. In my eyes he was the obvious 3rd RB we were in on after Harris and Scott. While I would say that to me he still is, it's much more negligible. Much smaller gap between the three than I originally thought.

There's also the fact it should be a quiet period right now, correct? Certainly sounds like Harbaugh may have committed a violation and they're trying to cover it up.

A coach can make a phone call during the quiet period.

**Coach can call once per week starting September 1st. ***During contact periods college coaches can call unlimited.
