MO OL Roderick Johnson (Florida State Signee)

Exactly. Get him on campus & you never know. Best closer in the game.....here's hoping.

1/17/2014: Roderick Johnson officially visits Ohio State

Should be here now? Hopefully, he likes snow? Beats the heat down south. Beats the drought out west.

It would appear that he is a cousin of out assistant coach, "but at this time, I not am not prepared to say how many degrees removed he might be" (Dickens, Bleak House).

Also, EZ comes from Hazlewood West. Roderick is from Hazlewood Central.

One of his recruiters is Kerry Coombs.

I think the crystal ball is crystal clear ... he has no way out ... he will be a buckeye.

Roderick Johnson (6’7” 310, OL, 2014 Florissant, MO)
Rod Johnson took an official visit to Ohio State. My sources could not discern if he would commit or not but it did sound like his visit went well. Many have Johnson to FSU but with four OL returning and OSU losing 4 OL, this could tip the scales toward OSU.

tOSU could end the drama by adding 2 more OL and call it a year???

Idk if it'd be wise to not finish with a d lineman in this class. 1 lineman on each side of the line should close us out. I just can't see the staff taking 2 OL instead of nnadi, thomas, etc

Well, it "seems" like it is the first man to say "yes". Perhaps the offers are conditional and that means that people will be "deciding" on signing day (after they start getting faxes) or maybe like last year, people will be changing their minds just before signing day?

Hard to know our number. I've always held we only had 2 more spots but I have heard some folks say 3. I'm fairly certain Taylor's offer is committable. If so that would make an interesting pitch to Johnson especially if the staff only plans on one more for the OL. I highly doubt Johnson can wait until NSD.

Agreed. Taylor most likely is ending this process in the next few days. And it seems like a first man to commit scenario. Though it'd be awesome to land johnson if we indeed have 3 spots left, but I also thought it was 2. Only 1 more O lineman is really needed in this class. Im sure johnson was made aware of all of this during his visit also. First man to commit gets in. And with Taylor returning to campus today with mom in tow, he could be a buckeye sooner rather than later, leaving johnson the odd man out

Firstly it would be a surprise if he goes anywhere but FSU. But if we miss on both Nnadi and McDowell, do you think we go for a plan C guy on the DL or a plan A guy on the OL? I would think the latter. But I don't think it matters since I don't see him coming here
