National Signing Day Discussion Thread

A couple of people I have spoken to think Farrell is destined for OT, ala Reid Fragel. Hausmann is the most complete TE on the roster and just lacks experience. He will probably be the #2 behind Baugh by some point next season. Alexander and Hawkins fit the mold of a flex TE. Berry is a guy I still have high hopes for as well...his athleticism is superb and I think he just needs to continue to learn the position.

I'm not challenging their talent, but that's a ton of TE's to bring in just one class. Are alot of these young men more "hybrid" ends?
They lost Heuerman (drafted last spring) and Vannett (will be drafted this spring) in the last two years. Really the 2015 class is more questionable than this one

2016 depth chart

TE1 Jr Baugh - played well last year, a co-starter
TE2 Fr Hausmann - best prospect easily

Backups:

rFr Alexander - hybrid, flex guy. Good athlete, is he a tweener? Lower rated guy.
rFr Berry - hybrid, a bit more of a question mark than Alexander, especially now that there are 3 of these guys on the roster.
Fr Farrell - would be a good blocking TE. Could grow into an OT.
Fr Hawkins - same as alexander, higher rated. Probably redshirts. Could also contribute outside at WR like Noah Brown (excellent blocker as frosh, would've started last fall but was lost to injury in camp. Huge loss as OSU blocked terribly on the perimeter, a huge step down from the monster blocking they enjoyed with Evan Spencer and Corey Smith (also lost for the year early in year), as well as Devin Smith running off 1-2 DBs.

If they had just taken one flex guy in 2015, it would've been much better, but they couldn't enter the 2016 season with absolutely no one besides Baugh and some true freshmen. Not that this situation is a lot better, but at least they have bodies. They also couldn't be sure they'd get all three TEs in 2016.
