Nick Saban (ex-HC Alabama Crimson Tide)

Former Alabama RB Altee Tenpenny showed erratic behavior, fired gun into air days before his death, police say

Days before his death, Altee Tenpenny walked into oncoming traffic with a loaded handgun outside a police administration building, according to police.

Tenpenny claimed the gun belonged to a teammate.

Tenpenny, who police observed with a "strong odor of an alcoholic beverage" on his breath, was arrested at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Sunday and charged with possession of a firearm and discharging that weapon. He was dismissed from the Nicholls State football team following the arrest.

One day after being released from a detention center, the former Alabama running back died in a one-car wreck outside Glen Allan, Miss. while driving back to Little Rock, Ark. He was 20-years old.

Nick Saban nets $100,000 bonus for Tide graduation rates

The richest coach in college football became even richer today. The NCAA released its annual Graduation Success Rate figures Wednesday, netting Alabama head coach Nick Saban a $100,000 bonus, according to USA Today.

USA Today also lists Saban as college football’s highest-paid coach with a base salary just south of $7.1 million.

From the paper: Saban’s $100,000 bonus is based on a combination of the team’s NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR), which the NCAA publishes each spring, and its GSR. The team’s GSR must be among the top 25% for all Southeastern Conference football teams for him to get $100,000 (he can get $50,000 if the APR benchmark is met and the GSR is among the top half for SEC football teams). Alabama’s new football GSR was 86% — the SEC’s best by one percentage point over Vanderbilt.

Alabama AD Bill Battle also took home an extra $40,000 thanks to Crimson Tide athletes’ graduation rates standing at least five points higher than that of the overall student population.

Yes Nick, tell us how difficult your FCS opponent is this week.
CSU is 9-1, however their lone loss was 44-16 to Troy (3-7 this year and 8th place in the Sun Belt), which is the only FBS team they've played this year up until Alabama. If fucking Troy could beat them by four TDs, all of Saban's ranting can't make this weekend's game resemble anything like a competitive matchup...
