Nation’s No. 1 prospect, DT Rashan Gary of New Jersey (Joshua L. Jones/Special for AJC)

UGA hosted the nation’s No. 1 player this weekend, and the visit couldn’t have gone any better.

Rashan Gary, a 5-star defensive tackle from Paramus Catholic (N.J.), awarded UGA a perfect score.

“A 10,” Gary told the AJC. “Me and my mom had a good time.”

I can't find the exact quote, but something along the lines of she didn't like the off field plan Ohio State offered.

More generally it was rumored that she hated her time at Ohio State.

All this after spending the entire day with LJ Sr. who is noted for talking about anything but on field stuff with players and their families. Plus 'real life Wednesdays' and all the numerous job fairs we constantly see the players participating in made her comments perplexing.

Finally, everyone thinks his mother is going to have a huge impact on his decision.

Birm talks about most of these things in this post: http://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-...-on-gary-hall-visits-maryland-ford-and-hamlin

Sometimes I wonder if stuff like this isn't just smokescreen... some of the M.Men seem to have an active imagination.
Anyway, I'll be happy so long as it isn't up there.

In his mind, his school is going to come down to three factors: Food, education and environment. That's speaking like a true defensive tackle.

Help me here:
1. Do we not have a nutritionist on staff?
2. Do we not have fuel bars?
3. Is there anyone who does not Peanut Butter Balls?
4. Did an Ohio State President not commend the student body for Orgies and Rioting?
5. Since when did Harbaugh create a good environment?
6. And if Harbaugh is not spooky enough, having Darth Vader Endorse tSUN is getting a little weird:

Rashan Gary

DL Rashan Gary of Paramus, NJ has taken official visits to Michigan and Ole Miss. This weekend he will take visited number three to Auburn for the Iron Bowl. According to his mother, Gary is set for Southern Cal January 16th. That leaves one official visit spot to fill, and he may take that and some more unofficial visits. Clemson is in line for one of those stops.

"We only did a day trip to Clemson and he needs two full days," said Gary's mother Jennifer Coney whose brother lives in Anderson. "We plan to take a couple of days in January to come down to Clemson, Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State on our own. We want him to be comfortable. We want to do what we want to do and see what we want to see...the campus, the students, the coaching staff when things are normal."

Anyone else find it odd for parents to be speaking for their children? It's tough and demanding I get that but life is tough and demanding. Perfect opportunity for Mr Gary to have practice making incredibly difficult decisions and conversations yet it seems to be always deferred to mom.

I Understand parents having input and advice for their youngsters but i just find it odd that we don't hear from Rashan directly.
