I will weep openly in public the day he gets hired as a HC, and I think he is the best OLine coach in Amerka, but he hasn't called plays for some time and he is learning as well. Two games in. He will improve. I am sure he and Urban are grading themselves and their play selections, as well as their game plans and what is working and what is not. I expect us to improve in this department like everything else Urban does.

Herman had a few head scratchers early on as well. Warriner will find out what does and doesn't work and get in his grove. Let's remember both CJ and JT missed a couple of wide open guys (or had a drop) which stalled drives. Let's also remember that we are everyone's championship game this year. We are going to see everyone's best effort. So far it's 80 points to 24. Not bad.

Herman had a lot of head scratchers to be honest. And really more than that, much like the last couple games... he had a lot of periods in games where the playcalling was more probing than effective and it got disjointed... and more than once or twice where Brax or Carlos just had to go do something awesome... but we... overall could score... it may not always be pretty but that's why you got homerun threats all over the place... that's why it looks horrible and you score 38.... it will get better, and by design, the margin for error is large. This last game for me was the D pitching a shut out. If they continue to improve from last year, the margin of error gets bigger. If you get into games where its a question of who can make the most big plays, I like our guys.

Full faith in Warriner and Urban.

Urban did have an interesting comment about having Warriner "on the field" while addressing offensive problems of the Hawaii game. I want him out there for the o-line but I feel it's got to be an advantage for the play-caller to be up in the booth where he can see everything. Still no worries, just thought it was interesting Urban brought it up without being prompted.

I think with the playcalling Saturday there was a lot of things being tested out. Still only 2 games in. If the playcalling and offensive production doesn't improve by B1G play I will get concerned. But for now I trust the coaches. I also wonder the effect of Tim Beck with our QB play. Seems we have regressed a little bit there. But it could just be too early and take some time.

I always wondered what our play calling would be like after Tom herman left. As concerns for what we will see from the play calling abilities, will be up to Ed Warinner, Tom Beck and Coach Meyer. The Buckeyes have so much talent, that I am sure there will be a lot of adjustment sown the road in future games.

As Buckeye followers, i suppose we are sort of spoiled & greedy ater what we saw coming the past 3 games that lead to our Championship.
I think the onekey wordthat we can hope to use is "Patience" As i see it, the "Defense" is a bit ahead of the offense right now and maybe they are trying to do, too much. Hawaii played us hard in the trenches for 3 quarters. Then we stated wearing them down in the last quarter. I expected that as much. At least i was hoping to see that.

Ed Warinner grew into one of the most coveted names on the head coaching carousel following Ohio State's improbable run at the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship, helping orchestrate some of the best offensive seasons in school history.

It earned him a promotion under Urban Meyer from co-offensive coordinator to offensive coordinator in addition to his duties as offensive line coach after Tom Herman left to be the head coach at the University of Houston. As it turns out, he received quite bit of extra compensation, as well.

Warinner is set to make a base salary of $600,000, in his one-year term running from May 1, 2015 to April 30, 2016, up significantly from the $364,000 base salary he earned from his previous contract — a 64.8 percent bump.

Oh he is definitely not the best play caller...yet. I was a always a huge fan of Herman, and thought he was fantastic, but even he took a bit of time to get rolling. I'm hoping/assuming Warinner can get there.
