Columbus Blue Jackets (Official Thread)

Let him sit. Philly is a mess, who knows what you're going to get from the NYR and the rest of the division outside of Pittsburgh sucks. What they are bringing back, with the addition of Hartnell and I'm assuming a fully healthy Nathan Horton should be enough to get into the playoffs.

Got some young forwards in the pipeline ready to step up too.

Unless Johansen gets an offer sheet, the only hockey he'll be playing for a while is on a video game. Glad the Jackets are drawing a line in the sand. And it helps management to know the fans are behind them. But we'll see what happens if the team starts underperforming.

Even if they struggle, I think Jarmo and Davidson are secure enough to continue to tell him and his agent (mostly his agent) to stick it.

He goes to the KHL, he'll be done in the NHL for a while. This kind of situation doesn't sit well with a lot of NHL GMs.

BTW I looked it up, Sergei Fedorov is the GM of CSKA Moscow - I kind of doubt he'd make an offer.

The Blue Jackets offered $3M and Johansen's agents is now saying $4.7M. Why don't they just get it over with and agree to something between $3.75 - $4M per year?

the thing is you have Murray, Jenner coming off ELCs in very soon future, plus the young specs, if you set a precedent to let Johansens agent to win then those guys will want to do the same. you have to make a stand somewhere and it couldnt be better to start with the star player. plus that makes it a higher QO in 2 years that he might not be worth.
