LB Jerome Baker (Seattle Seahawks)

I was pretty surprised to see him say Ohio State is recruiting him at running back. I had always envisioned him as a LB recruit.

Has anyone seen him in person that can give their thoughts on him as an RB prospect vs an LB prospect?

I remember hearing he performed well last year at FNL as a running back, but haven't heard much other than that.

Check some of his stats in this thread, the kid has put up some monstrous games at RB, but knows he can play both ways depending on how big he gets. And the staff has told him so as well. Future is most likely at LB, a lot of elite LBs in the Nfl and college were RBs in HS(James Harrison, Brian Urlacher, jerod mayo, Patrick Willis, Terrell Suggs, etc). The kid is a stud, will probably outgrow being an elite RB into being an elite LB

Does he also have a junior defensive film? Kudos in advance. I certainly like Baker at RB but I'm not 100% convinced he has the acceleration in the first 5-10 yards to make him a dynamic RB at the next level...really didn't see enough of him between the tackles either and we all know he is stronger than an ox, but that doesn't always translate. He does, however, have a TON to like at the position. Really good feel on the perimeter, excellent balance, very good top end gears, great hands, and you just have to love his build at the position. He is a guy I would love to watch in person at a camp like the opening to see how his athleticism matches up with guys at the next level.

My first evaluation is that he would be a good RB here but he could be an elite LB instead. We know where the position of need is and his athleticism would not be exceptional at RB but would be at LB. Plus I like any of Jamabo, Patrick, Weber, and/or Strong to join this class and they would fulfill a similar role. I say try to get 1-2 of the guys I mentioned for RB and stick Baker on defense. I think he is more of a project at LB but has a much higher ceiling there. Dream-team of LBs in my mind is Baker, Sh'mar-Kilby, and Hilliard (maybe one more elite guy if we can)...and I think we could have Baker and Sh'mar-Kilby in earlier rather than later and focus on Hilliard. However, I am interested to see how he develops at RB and if he plays there at the camps.

Before I forget though, just go to 4:55 if you want to see what type of athlete Baker is. And completely unrelated side note, those Benedictine jerseys are about the sickest I have seen in high school.
