LaTwan Anderson (official thread)

The more I watch film on LaTwan, the more he reminds me of Cie Grant. Out of all of the amazing prospects we're evaluating for our next batch of offers (Gholston and Alex Smith included), I've got my fingers crossed LaTwan gets that next offer.

Great instincts when the ball's in the air, gets to the ball at its highest point, can seperate the receiver from the ball, has great closing speed in coverage and when blitzing, has good hands, makes the tackle and can lay the wood. Great playmaking, all-around athlete on the defensive side of the ball. Looks much bigger out there than what he's listed at. Plus, he's a great return man and I think he'd make an outstanding gunner on special teams as well.

If he doesn't work out at DB, I think he'd make a heck of a LB.

Excellent prospect, but I don't see an offer soon. As grad said earlier, he does have very good straight line speed, but there's no film of him covering anyone, and there is only one clip showing him reading the QB to make the pick. Tackles well but isn't the ferocious hitters that OSU normally recruits. Changes directions well but doesn't show the same hips that closes the sidelines for the ball carrier like Hines and Telfort. May not be big enough to get into the action around the line of scrimmage. As long as the Florida DBs are on board, I think the staff would wait.

Sorry... I will take this kid as a returner and then work on his WR or CB skills. Most DB's start out on ST anyways at OSU....I see him getting an offer if he goes to camp maybe before.

I hope OSU waits way too long before offering LaTwan, I would love to see him in Green and White.

Regardless of his hips, etc., that speed, physical play and athletic ability belongs on a Big Ten team, of course, except um.

Kid has safety written all over him, and I think he makes a very good one...He is already 190, I would think he could get up to 205 and be a very good SS...he will have to cover some, but not like a corner, and he can come up and play the run from the safety spot, and his speed is great wherever you put him on the field...

Heard he loved his visit to Michigan State and they are out in front right now. Then again, whoever you last visit is usually your leader for at least few days. Now that he is at glenville, he will be around more people who love Ohio State and will probably get more attention from the coaching staff.

Well, there's that and the fact that he doesn't have an Ohio State offer.

Does anyone get the feeling that OSU is not going to offer Latwan? I know it is still technically early, but it seems like it has been dead silent between Latwan and the OSU staff (from what we know) and I have not heard anything encouraging from any insiders with regards to OSU ever pursuing Latwan.

I'd say it's much more than technically early. It is early. Signing day for '09 players just passed a few weeks ago. There are some top '09 players still not even signed (Oku, "top" might be a stretch, but the point is still the same).

The updates have shown OSU interest. Wouldn't think that the thread wouldn't be in this forum if there were no legitimate interest.
