OL Tyler Gerald (Official Thread)

Great mindset. I took all the visits I could when I was being recruited and if I was at that type of level, I would definitely be having fun at all the big time schools on their dime.

There was some "talk" he was transferring back home after Chris Weinke left IMG for the NFL, but he quickly squashed that & I think this says it all.

The 11W Community Interview is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people. You submit the questions, vote on them, and then we pass the top ones on to the biggest names in the world of Ohio State athletics.

An Ohioan now at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Tyler Gerald was the second commitment in Ohio State's 2016 recruiting class. The Portsmouth, Ohio native transferred to IMG following the end of his junior season and has been impressing his coaches at teammates in Florida.

The nation's fifth-ranked offensive guard and 165th-ranked overall prospect, Gerald is a classic mauler along the line and will fit into Ed Warinner's Slobs perfectly with his aggressive attitude and coachable attitude.

Today, Gerald becomes the first member of the 2016 class to take a turn in the 11W Community Interview Series.

With his nasty demeanor, work ethic, and ability, this kid will hit the field sooner rather than later. I am pretty confident in saying that.

The year at IMG won't hurt his chances of playing early either. He's going up against Malik Barrow, Cam Spence and other Buckeye-caliber guys in practice everyday and getting great coaching too. He's definitely going to show up very college-ready and could jump right into the two deep.

Hopefully the same is true of Jurkovic. I believe he was an IMG alum as well
